Sensor And Parameter Values Missing Or Reading Zero When Performing A Sensor
And Parameter Values Monitor With Premium Tech Tool ( PTT ) - US07 And US10 (
Pre-OBDII, 9-Pin Diagnostic Connector ) Chassis

Cause

Sensor and parameter values may not register in PTT when attempting to record or
monitor a road test or regeneration.

Solution

Overview
When connected to a chassis and monitoring sensor and parameter values, most values
are reading zero or " - " in the data. Some values such as Vehicle Speed, Intake
Temperature, and Engine Speed may register correctly at the same time that the rest are
not.

Resolution
This issue is an internal problem in Premium Tech Tool version 2.6.*. The problem is
likely in the process for loading the template itself. It has been found that if parameters
are manually selected from the Test screen, the parameters reading zero will start
registering values again.
If this situation is encountered, refer to the correct document located in the Parameter
Lists CBR Solution for the complete set of parameters for each type of road test.
If manual parameter selection does not fix the issue, it may be necessary to revert a PC
back to PTT version 2.5 in order to complete diagnostic work. Prior to contacting IT,
check if a CD with version 2.5 is available. Using the CD to install the bulk of the
program will save time. Updates will have to be performed once 2.5 is installed. If a disc
is not available, the IT Help Desk will need to be contacted for assistance at
877.978.6586.
Note: Version 2.6 will need to be removed from the computer before running the
2.5 installation
If these conditions are observed on an OBDII chassis (Chassis equipped with a 16-pin
diagnostic connector), diagnostics for communication issues will need to be followed.
