To prevent unnecessary replacement of these modules and create the direction of using Diagnostic

Cause

Event Record

Note: Currently GDS2 is not reporting correctly for Super Cruise Modules ASCM1 and ASCM2 Event History Information. Do not
replace parts due to current Diagnostic Event History Records. A new release will be available by 11/20/2017. When diagnosing Super
Cruise Dis-engagements please check for DTCs within the Active Safety Systems. Do not clear Diagnostic Event History Records at
this time, please call TAC for assistance if needed 1-877-446-8227. Select Action Center Prompt, then Super Cruise, and then Electrical.

Correction:
The purpose of the parts restriction on the Active Safety Control Module (ASCM) 1 & 2, Camera Image Processing Module (CIPM) ,
Camera, Digital Map Module (DMM), Multifunction Energy Storage Capacitor Control Module, Forward Range Radar, Short Range
Radars, Steering Column Friction Control Module, and Steering Wheel is to accurately root cause issues with Super Cruise.
The system is complex and replacing these modules will not resolve issues with the interface to the ASCM.
This will help prevent the unnecessary replacement of these modules and create the direction of using "Diagnostic Event Record" to
determine the status of the issue to fix the issue the first time.
The Super Cruise feature is heavily dependent on several variables for the feature to be engaged which include but are not limited to
environment, road types, module conditions, and map updates, etc.
Technician will need to save the "Session Log" of the "Diagnostic Event Records", from ASCM's 1 and 2, processors A, B, and C, 1 - 10
for each processor for each TAC case.
The session logs will need to be reviewed before any part will be released.
Note: Do not “Clear Codes” before pulling Diagnostic Event History Records, as this will erase the Diagnostic Event Records. The
“Clear Codes” should only be performed after pulling the Session Logs for Diagnostic Event History Record.
