SUBJECT: Freightliner Cascadia Daytime Running Lights (Canada Only)
This letter is to inform you of important information regarding the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on specific
Freightliner Cascadia vehicles manufactured August 16, 2007, through May 29, 2014.

The Daytime Running Lights do not operate when the master headlight switch is in
the “MARKER LIGHTS” position. The “MARKER LIGHTS” position should not be
used when the vehicle is being driven.
This is an informational notice only. There is no action for dealers to take at this time. If you receive
a customer inquiry regarding Cascadia Daytime Running Lights please direct the customer to the owner
notice and the attached operating instructions for the use of the Master Lighting Switch.
A copy of the customer letter is included for your reference. Also enclosed is the important driver notice
with operating instructions for the use of the Master Lighting Switch. This driver notice must be kept in the
vehicle and readily available to the driver.

Daimler Trucks North America LLC, (DTNA), would like to inform you of important
information regarding the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on specific Freightliner
Cascadia vehicles manufactured August 16, 2007, through May 29, 2014.
The Daytime Running Lights do not operate when the master headlight switch is in
the “MARKER LIGHTS” position. The “MARKER LIGHTS” position should not be
used when the vehicle is being driven.
Enclosed is an important driver notice with operating instructions for the use of the
Master Lighting Switch. This driver notice must be kept in the vehicle and readily
available to the driver.
As stated in the terms of your express limited warranty, Daimler Trucks North America
LLC will not pay for any damage caused by failure to properly operate your vehicle.
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC considers the enclosed instructions necessary for
proper operation and will, therefore, not pay for any damage to your vehicle or other
costs cause by your failure to adhere to the operating instruction that are the subject of
this driver notice.

In order to meet the Canadian requirements
for Daytime Running Lights, when the
engine is running and the parking brake is
not applied, the master lighting switch must
be in either the “Off” position (position 2) for
daytime operation, or the “Headlights”
position (position 4) for night time operation
or when visibility is reduced. Do not use the
“Marker Lights” position (position 3) in
these circumstances. (Refer to diagram
below.)
