DESCRIPTION
Prevost recommends a yearly inspection of the fuel tank cradle mounting screws. Replace hardware as
required.
Where applicable, make sure safety recall SR17-28 has been performed prior to inspection.

PROCEDURE
DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine. Prior to working on the vehicle, set the ignition
switch to the OFF position and trip the main circuit breakers equipped with a trip button. On Commuter
type vehicles, set the battery master switch (master cut-out) to the OFF position.
1. Raise vehicle with safe lifting equipment
and procedures.

2. Place jack stands under the fuel tank
cradle.

3. Locate the mounting points of the fuel tank cradle under the vehicle frame (Figure 3)
4. Carefully inspect fuel cradle mounting bolts, 6 locations.(Figure 3)
5. Replace any bolt showing signs of wear by new hardware.

6. On the transversal screw joints, (Figure 4) any
visible gap between cradle support tubing and
vehicle frame mounting lugs is not
acceptable.
It
could
indicate
safety
recall SR17-28 has not been performed on
the vehicle.
If it is indeed the case, perform safety
recall SR17-28 in priority over this
maintenance inspection.
Inspection will then apply yearly afterwards

7. If shims are not present, the visible gap
should be shimmed using parts 030082 and
030083 as required.
8. Shim arrangement may vary and may be
stacked on both sides.

NOTE

CAUTION

Do not re-use nuts
Perform replacement one screw location at a time with
appropriate support.
9. Tighten to 82 lb-ft.
10. Apply torque seal mark.

Discard according to applicable environmental regulations (Municipal/State[Prov.]/ Federal)
