Condition

When ESA is connected to the CECU3, an error message stating 'Cluster Not Detected' displays.
Chassis Affected

New T680/T880 chassis manufactured from 12/11/2017 through 1/2/2018. Any chassis that received an ECU update between

12/8/2017 and date of bulletin publication.

Update all ESA software in your dealership now.

If a customer comes into your dealership and demonstrates the condition above, use the procedure below to remedy the

problem.

Background

ESA software version P30-1011-143 had a bug in it that caused this issue. It is not possible to see the revision of the software

in ESA. That is why it is necessary to update all ESA software in your dealership to prevent more chassis from being

corrupted.
Procedure

Ensure that ESA has the latest available update. See the documents located on the ESA Administration page (you can

find these in the ESA Administration Quick Link in the Eportal Service tab) to update the ESA software.

Connect ESA to the CECU. The following message may display if the cluster is not detected. Select the appropriate

division.

A warning message stating the software is old and incompatible will display. Click the Fix button next to the warning

message.

The Flashing Wizard dialog will display. If no software options are shown, click the Display More Versions button to

display the software options.
NOTE

The CECU version installed will be P30-1011-143. The new version is also P30-1011-143. They are

different revisions. The revision number of the software version is not visible when looking at the software

version.

The Incompatible Vehicle Software Detected dialog may appear. If it does, click Yes to continue updating the CECU.

In the Restore Parameters Options dialog, you can select to either restore the parameters from ECAT or use the

default parameter values. If you chose to use the default values, you will need to restore the parameters from ECAT at

a later time or updated them manually.

Click Yes to Restore Parameters from vehicle software default values if that option was previously selected.

After the reflash is complete. Disconnect and then reconnect to the chassis to confirm that the Cluster can be detected.
