Customer may report "Drive system: system fault!" is displayed on the instrument cluster:
 DTC P0AA600 Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault
This DTC is found in the Battery regulation control module, J840 (address word 008C). DTC may be static or
sporadic.

Technical Background
The wire harness for the high-voltage battery maybe pinched by the left underbody trim panel.

Additional bracket for the high-voltage cables installed in production.

Service
1. If DTC P0AA600 Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault is not found in the Battery
regulation control module, J840 (address word 008C), this TSB does not apply. Perform diagnosis
outside of this TSB.
2. Inspect the vehicle for any signs of damage that may affect the high-voltage system. If physical
damage is found to the exterior of the vehicle, or to the under body of the vehicle, check to ensure the
high-voltage system is not affected by outside influence. This TSB does not apply if the DTC or
customer complaint was caused by outside influence.
3. De-energize the high-voltage system. See repair manual for instruction and required qualifications.
4. Remove the underbody trim panel from the left side of the vehicle (Figure 1).

5. Inspect the high-voltage cable in the area (Figure 2-A).
 If the cable was not routed inside the underbody trim panel high-voltage cable channel, then
damage can be caused to the cable by the underbody trim panel.

 If there is an indent on the high-voltage cable, proceed with the TSB, otherwise perform diagnostics
of the DTC outside of this TSB.

6. If pinch damage is present, replace the high-voltage cable from the high-voltage battery to the powerelectronics.
7. When replacing the high-voltage cable in step 6, install additional retainer bracket (part number 1K0611-853):
 Ensure the spacer tabs of the additional retainer bracket (Figure 3-A) point towards the rear of the
vehicle and the spacer tab presses up to the original retainer bracket.
 Secure the high-voltage cable to the additional retainer bracket, not the original bracket.

8. When installing the underbody trim panel, ensure that the high-voltage cable fits inside the routing
channel (see dashed line in Figure 4). Pinch damage will occur if the high-voltage cable is not properly
placed inside of the underbody trim panel.
