The Following Diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition / Concern
The Police Patrol and Special Service Vehicles have an option available for a common key RPO 6E2 or 6E8. This option provides a
single key with a specific code that is common to the door locks and ignition of all the vehicles in the fleet that have the same 6E2 or
6E8 RPO.
If a Fleet/Police department would like the common key feature, RPO 6E2 or 6E8 needs to be selected when placing the order. From
time to time, when an order is placed the customer/dealer may forget to select the common key RPO (either 6E2 or 6E8) and when the
vehicle is received it has a unique key that does not match the other like vehicles in their fleet. The customer may ask if the vehicle
can be converted from the unique key system to the single common key system either RPO 6E2 or 6E8.

Recommendations / Instructions
The vehicle can be converted to single common key system either RPO 6E2 or 6E8, but this is not covered under warranty and would
be done at the cost of the customer/dealer.
1. Determine which common key RPO 6E2 or 6E8 the customer needs and order NEW fleet keys for that RPO, see parts section below.
The NEW fleet keys will come already cut to the 6E2 or 6E8 option. DISCARD ALL OLD KEYS WHICH CAME WITH THE VEHICLE.
2. All the lock cylinders (door, ignition, etc) will need to be recoded to match the 6E2 or 6E8 code.
3. Replace the BCM with a NEW BCM.
4. Reprogram the NEW BCM using normal SPS programming. No special calibrations are needed.
5. When performing the IMMO Theft Relearn, ONLY use a NEW fleet key for this procedure, see note below.
NOTE: If a non-fleet key or a fleet key that had been previously learned to another vehicle, is used during the IMMO Theft Relearn, the
BCM will not learn/convert to Fleet mode.
After the above procedure is complete, the vehicle will be converted to a single common key system RPO 6E2 or 6E8 and will now have
a common key for the door locks and ignition of all the like vehicles in the fleet that have the same 6E2 or 6E8 RPO.
