• There is no customer complaint with this concern.
• The following DTCs may be stored:
• DTC P1703 (Limp home, control unit reset) in the transmission control module (TCM), J217 (address word
02).
• DTC U1111 (Function limitation due to missing message) in the selector lever sensor system control
module, J587 (address word 81).

Technical Background
If the memory is read with guided fault finding (GFF) or if Immobilizer test plans are performed, the above DTC
entries may be stored due to a communication error between the VAS tester and the TCM. (In particular, the issue
happens with tester VAS 5051B).

Before proceeding, verify that the Condition and Technical Background match the issue. If other faults or
conditions exist, this TSB will not work and should not be followed.
SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732, 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the TCM using the SVM action code as listed in the table below if necessary.
