When diagnosing ECM faults for oil pressure switch, pay careful attention to the
fault number displayed. Fault P164B “Oil Pressure Switch Malfunction”, indicates a
concern with the F1 High pressure oil switch, which has a blue housing. Fault
P164D “Reduced Oil Pressure Switch Malfunction” indicates a concern with the
F378 Reduced oil pressure switch, which has a brown housing.

If no communication can be established to the Vehicle electrical system control
module J519 (address word 09) in Guided Fault Finding or Vehicle Self Diagnosis,
it may be necessary to cycle door locks. It is recommended to cycle both the remote
locks and the driver’s door lock switch when attempting to communicate to the
module with the scan tool. Ensure all vehicle doors are unlocked before
communication is retried.
