OCU / Car-Net modules with software 078 or 086 SHOULD NOT be
replaced for the following fault codes:
o B201700: Control module locked
o B105213: Control unit for cell phone preparation open circuit
o U112300: Databus error value received
o B1788F0: Control Module Immobilizer deactivated
 SW 078 equipped cars will have a brief “Chirp” or “In-Band modem noise”
when making a connection. This is a characteristic operation and no repairs
should be performed.
 Swapping of OCU modules from car-to-car for diagnosis or repair is
discouraged as corruption of stored vehicle data and subscription
information within OCU is possible.
 Current Service Parts should have software level of 078 or 086 (Higher
levels pending). Do not install lower software level into vehicle than was
removed, i.e. DO NOT replace a SW086 with a SW078.




VAS PC does not support 2014 NMS Passat. ODIS (at latest software level)
MUST be used to communicate and diagnose these vehicles. See ServiceNet
– “Workshop Equipment” for latest updates.

Tip: Car-Net equipped vehicles have PR code “EL2” and address word “75” along
with 3-button assembly in overhead console.

26-12-02 AdBlue Level Reset Procedure

1. Erase all OBD DTC's.
2. Warm engine to full operating temp inside the shop.
3. Go to Control Module OBD,Basic Settings select Check of SCR efficiency,
press blue forward arrow on the bottom right.
4. In the next screen on the left will show Check of SCR efficiency and in the
box on the right will show (VO)_not available. Press the blue forward arrow
on the bottom right again.
5. Now double click on status of basic settings and Operating instructions both
will move to the selection box on the right. Press the blue forward arrow
again.
6. Verify engine is running, no pedals are pressed, vehicle in park, emergency
brake is pulled, all doors and hood must be closed.
7. Press stop all, scroll down the measure values box to see instructions.
8. Select Check of SCR efficiency in the basic settings box.
9. Select start and operating instructions will show hold brake and accelerator
pedal, test may take 30 minutes or more.
10. Once test is complete system ok will show and the AdBlue light and
Message miles to no start will be reset.

windshield wiper function. –– G397 Rain/light recognition sensor is present on all
2012–2014 Passat vehicles, but this sensor is used only for auto headlamp function

When replacing the complete vehicle lock set (all vehicle keys and lock cylinders)
for any reason, be aware that the “Adapt keys” test plan will not allow the new keys
to adapt to the vehicle. Instead, perform the test plan for “New identity”. During this
test plan, make the appropriate selection to indicate only the lock set has been
replaced, as shown below in figures 1 and 2. (Refer to Tech Tip document)

This update has been proactively released to prevent the fuel door from sticking or
difficult to open. This UPDATE is in effect until removed. Vehicle must meet all of

 If the vehicle is sold it must be within the NEW VEHICLE LIMITED
WARRANTY.

prior to sale.

