Subject: Diagnostic Content Versions – New Designation

1.0 – Announcement
Audi AG has updated their diagnostic content authoring process and implemented a new, simplified
diagnostic content version numbering designation.
The new content version designation enables “baseline” and “increment” data types to be identified in
updated version releases. The new version designation is effective immediately. Refer to the following
section for additional information.

2.0 – Content Version Designation - Definitions
2.1 - Version Designation Legend:

Always 2 = Second

Content Baseline:
Running Number

Content Increment:
Running Number
added to Baseline

2.2 - Version Designation Definitions:
Baseline data:
•

Major content updates where new, corrected or missing data completely overwrites all existing
baseline data.

•

These updates tend to be large.

Increment data:
•

Minor content updates where new, corrected or missing data is added to the existing baseline
data.

•

These updates tend to be small.
