Eliminating Symptoms on Body Exterior - Reworking rear lid release switch (Rear lid
release switch light does not function/SY4316)

General information
Symptom

If the rear lid is opened using the remote control (hand-held transmitter) or if the driver's door is
opened, the rear lid release switch light is switched on for max. 10 minutes.

Disconnect battery ground terminal.  Workshop Manual '2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery'

Remove rear lid trim panel at the bottom.  Workshop Manual '709219 Removing and installing
trim panel for rear lid'

Plug in electric plug connection for cable adapter
 Plugging in electric plug connection for cable
adapter -1- at electric plug connection for luggage
compartment light at the right  Plugging in electric
plug connection for cable adapter -2-.

Release and disconnect combination connector 

Disconnect red/white electric line  Disconnecting

Information
The unplugged electric line is live. The electric line must be insulated carefully.
