Front air bellows
Symptom:
After the vehicle has been parked for a long time at temperatures below 5° F (-15° C), the
chassis can be lowered fully at the front axle.
A yellow warning message Warning messages -1- indicating extreme level and after approx. 60
seconds, a red warning message Warning messages -2- indicating that the filling time has been
exceeded can appear in the instrument cluster.
Warning messages
Cause:
Minor leaks can occur in an air suspension system, depending on the type.
Particularly at cold outside temperatures, more time may be needed to fill the air bellows.
A red warning message appears in the instrument cluster and the system interrupts the filling process.
Remedial
action:
Re-program PASM control unit, see Workshop Manual '431655 Replacing PASM control
unit'
This increases the time delay before the "Filling time exceeded" fault entry from 60 to 360 seconds.
