Technical background
The bolts which secure the Left and Right hand boot hinges to the body (Figure 1) are of incorrect length NOTE: For photographic purposes the
loom has been disconnected from the hinge

Remedy
The bolts which secure the Left and Right hand side boot hinge to the body must be replaced, the Torque tightening value has also changed.
The original bolts fitted were M8 x 20mm, the latest specification bolts are now M8 x 25mm
Customer notification
Customers do not need to be informed of this campaign. Please ensure that all affected vehicles are checked and repaired at Pre Delivery Inspection
(PDI) or during a service visit. You should also inform your new and used car sales departments so that the vehicles affected can be checked and, if
necessary, repaired immediately (and not just before sale)

If the vehicle is not already listed as repaired in “Repair history” (in Elsa Pro) check the vehicle for the campaign completion paint mark which is a
Yellow paint confirmation mark on the Left hand hinge front fixing Bolt (Figure 5) if it is evident that this campaign has not been applied, carry out the
required work in accordance with these instructions.
Control
All Flying Spur vehicles from VIN SCBEB53W8EC088785 are fitted with the correct length Bolts and Torque tightened to the correct value

Work
1.Check the boot profile is within specification before commencing with this procedure.
Left Hand Boot Hinge
2. Protect the hinge and body paintwork to eliminate any damage
- Switch off the ignition, Do not switch on the ignition until this procedure is completed Do not attempt to close the boot at any stage whilst carrying
out this procedure
Do Not remove more than one boot hinge bolt at any one time
- Using a clay pencil mark the position of the hinge to ensure that once this procedure is complete the hinge will be positioned back to its original
position
- Access to the boot hinge side fixings is tight, Referring to Figure 2 remove the loom clip from the hinge (Point A) and remove the lower boot strut
(Point B) WARNING: Ensure the boot lid is propped up securely when the strut is removed

- Referring to Figure 3 use special tool 3320/3 within a suitable ratchet spanner (or similar) and remove the left hand rearmost boot hinge bolt and
discard

- Fit a new boot hinge fixing bolt, Referring to Figure 4 use special tools 3320 and 3320/3 and Torque the fixing bolt to 20 Nm + 45 Degrees
- When securing the boot hinge bolts use a suitable Torque wrench which will accommodate the 9mm x 12 mm adaptor fitting as shown in Figure 5

- Repeat the process on the Left hand boot hinge front fixing
- Using Solvent based Black paint, touch in the ends of the multi spline bolt heads where the Multi spline bit has contacted during the securing process
- Fit the boot hinge loom
3. Repeat procedure 2 on the Right hand rear boot hinge
4. Place a Yellow paint completion mark on the Left hand rear boot hinge front fixing (Figure 6)
