Technical background
In January 2012 a TPI was released which instructed Dealers to remove where fitted the side view camera control module as a potential fault was
identified with the original part. The latest specification side view camera control module is now available for all Bentley
Mulsanne vehicles which were
specified with the side view camera option. If the original module has been previously removed and replaced with the link loom as per previous
instruction, a Yellow paint mark will be evident on the diagnostic plug surrounding cover as shown in Figure 1, please remove the loom and fit the
replacement side view camera module as detailed within this document.

Should the vehicle still have the original side view camera module fitted or the link loom was installed at the time of production a Yellow paint mark will
not be evident, if this is the case please replace the existing module or remove the link loom and replace with the latest specification part as detailed
within this document.
NOTE: During this procedure the Workshop Manual is quoted, it is recommended that the procedures referenced are checked by the operative as
the process within the workshop manual may have changed since last viewed.
Remedy
From Mid-January 2013 the side view camera will again become a customer option, the latest specification part will be fitted at the time of production.
Customer notification
Where possible please ask the customer to ensure the owners handbook is with the vehicle when they visit the Dealership to have the Campaign
applied, this is to allow the addendum to be removed which was previously inserted when the original control module was removed. Please also inform
your new and used car sales departments of this Campaign so that the vehicles affected can be repaired immediately.

Check
If the vehicle is not already listed as repaired in “Repair history” (in Elsa pro), check for the Campaign completion identification mark which is a White
paint mark located above the diagnostic plug cover (Figure 2) the White mark confirms the latest specification part has been fitted, should neither be
evident carry out the required work in accordance with instructions.

1. Remove the side view control module temporary link loom or remove the existing side view camera control module - Refer to Workshop Manual

3. Should the original side view camera control module have been previously removed and replaced with the link loom 3Y0 998 381 there should be a
Yellow completion paint mark on the diagnostic plug surrounding cover (Figure 1), please carefully remove this and replace with a White paint
completion mark as shown in Figure 2. If the original control module has been replaced for the latest specification part or the factory fitted loom has
been replaced with the latest specification part, a White paint completion mark should also be added (Figure 2)
4. Remove and discard the addendum from the owners handbook which was inserted after the original control module was removed the part
numbers for the addendums were as follows:
TSD B05900 - Handbook Addendum - English
TSD B09109 - Handbook Addendum - Multilingual
Identification
White paint mark on the diagnostic plug surrounding cover confirms the latest specification part has been fitted.
