GLI FUEL LINES REPLACEMENT
Prevost vehicles
DESCRIPTION
On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, the two (2) fuel lines connecting to the fuel line cooler can be
replaced by new improved fuel lines providing better high temperature resistance and better service life.

PROCEDURE

DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine. In the battery box, set the battery cut-off switch
to the OFF position prior to working on the vehicle.
Return fuel lines are not pressurized; however, some remaining fuel may leak when the fuel lines are
disconnected.

In the radiator compartment, locate the fuel cooler and disconnect the two cooler hoses.

From the curb side engine door, disconnect the fuel return hose from the intake manifold.

From under the vehicle, remove the two hoses from the P-clamps located on the front engine
compartment wall and remove and discard all the P-clamps.

Fig.4 Remove all P-clamps holding the hoses to the engine compartment wall and discard them.

Remove the cooler to engine hose from the vehicle.

Remove hose protectors from the hose and reinstall them on the new hose.
NOTE: If the hose protectors show any signs of deterioration that could affect their function,
replace them using part # 033184

Install the new cooler to engine hose, use a new hose clamp at the cooler end and Loctite 567
thread sealant or equivalent at the manifold connection. Secure the hose to the engine wall
compartment using P-clamps following the original routing.
NOTE: Replace all P-clamps with part # 952629.

Open the condenser compartment and tilt the condenser out of the way, the fuel tank connections
are located on the fuel tank top behind the condenser.

Also open the fuel tank access door in the rear baggage compartment to give better access to the
hose.

Locate the fuel return hose on the top of the fuel tank and disconnect it from the tank.

Cut the metal fitting from the old hose at the tank connection.

Using a brass coupler of suitable diameter and two hose clamps, temporarily connect the new hose
cooler side to the old hose at the end where the fitting was previously cut.

From under the vehicle, at the exit of the PVC tubing, slowly pull out the old hose from the tubes,
this “fishing” method will allows the new hose to be inserted in the tube by simply following the old
hose. Continue until the new hose exits the tube, at this point the hoses can be disconnected and
the remaining part of the old hose can be removed from the vehicle (remove the 3 hose protectors
and reuse them on the new hose if they don’t show signs of excessive deterioration).

INSTALLATION TIP: Wrapping the hose clamp with duct tape will help prevent the hose
clamp ends from being caught in the tubes.

Continue pulling until the new hose can be reconnected to the fuel cooler.
NOTE: Use new hose clamp # 504014. Hose protectors # 033184 must be installed before the
hose is connected to the cooler.

Reinstall the new hose in the new P-clamps.

Connect the hose at the tank (use thread sealant).

Recheck all four connections (engine, tank and both cooler connections).

Put the ignition to the ON position to pressurize the fuel system and check for leaks.

18)

If no leaks are detected, tests drive the vehicle until the engine reaches its operating temperature.

19)

Stop the vehicle and check again for fuel leaks, re-torque as necessary.
