The customer complains of one of the
following conditions:
 The LED on the Park Assist button is
flashing to indicate an error with the
system, and an error message is
displayed on the DIS (Figure 1 and
Figure 2).
 Other symptoms may include loss of
courtesy lamp operation or loss of
glovebox illumination.
 Fuse ST5 SB15 may be blown (Figure
3).
One or more of the following DTCs may be
stored in the vehicle electrical system
control module, J519 (address word 0009):

Technical Background
The sunvisor wiring or the wiring in the roof leading to one or both sunvisors is damaged (shorted to B+, shorted
to ground or open) due to the wiring routing or damage from the sunvisor mounting screw.

Production Solution
A production assembly instruction has been implemented to safeguard against damage during installation.
Further improvements will include optimized routing of the sunvisor wiring in the visor mounting.

Service
Remove both sunvisors and inspect the
wiring in the visor mounting as well as the
wiring in the roof leading to the sunvisors:
 If the wiring in the visor is damaged,
replace the sunvisor (Figure 4).
 If the wiring in the roof harness is
damaged, it can be repaired using the
VAS 1978B (Figure 5).
 If fuse ST5 SB15 is found to be blown,
replace it.
