(SERVICE CAMPAIGN T01G)

This bulletin supersedes TSB 17-01-001-G to include the updated USB part and instructions to
input the VIN prior to installing the software update.

Dealers should perform this update whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any
maintenance or repair and has not had the software installed.
Description: This bulletin provides information for new software to update the Navigation and Map
database for 2017 G90 vehicles.
This bulletin describes the process to update the software with the provided USB.
The update process will take approximately 90 minutes to complete.
Applicable Vehicles: 2017 G90 Vehicles with production dates from June 2016 – June 2017.

Service Procedure:
1.

Navigate to HyundaiDealer.com to input
VIN information before starting the
update process:
1. Select “Parts” tab.
2. Select “Genesis Multimedia &
Navigation Update”.

3. Select “New Order” at the top right 3
of the webpage.
4. Enter the VIN of the vehicle that
will be updated and Select
“Validate”.
5. Check the box:
“I have the G90 map update USB
drive (Part Number: G115G9)”

7. Order number will be displayed for
reference.
If a USB needs to be ordered, check “I
Don’t have the USB” and follow the
ordering instructions.

Start the vehicle by depressing the brake
pedal and pushing the Start Stop Button
(A).

NOTICE
Park vehicle in a well ventilated area
during the update process.

Confirm the software version using the
following steps:
a) Press HOME button on the
Central Control Panel
b) Select Setup in the HOME screen
c) Select General in the Setup
screen
d) Select System Info in the General
Settings screen
e) Select Version
If the software and map version is
 Lower than the versions listed,
proceed to the next step.


Higher than the versions listed
then stop no update is needed.

Insert the update USB (G115G9) into the
vehicle USB port (B).

Use the jog dial (C) on the Central
Control Panel to select ‘Yes’ when the
update pop-up message appears.

NOTICE
Do not remove USB Update Stick or
turn off the ignition switch during the
update. Otherwise, the update will
not be completed properly.

The software will automatically update
through 3 steps:
1. Checking update information
a. Black screenSystem
Update
2. Software Download in Progress
a. Black screenSystem
Update
3. Software Download in Progress
a. System reboot

It will take approximately 90 minutes to
complete the update process.

NOTICE
There will be multiple occurrences
where the display will be black during
the update process. This is normal.

NOTICE
In case the vehicle is turned OFF
during the update process, do not
remove the USB update stick. The
update pop-up message will reappear
after the vehicle is restarted. Select
‘Yes’ to start the update again.
If a manual update is needed, use the
following steps:
a) Press HOME button
b) Select Setup in the HOME
screen
c) Select General in the Setup
screen
d) Select System Info in the
General Settings screen
e) Select Update
f) Select Update in the Update
screen

An ‘Update has been finished
successfully’ message will appear after
the update is complete.
Remove the USB drive from the vehicle
USB port (D).

Then select ‘OK’ on the pop-up
message.

The navigation system will reboot.

Troubleshooting


Ignition turned off during the update
process:
1. Do not remove the USB.
2. Turn the Ignition On.
3. The system will reboot and
recognize the USB is installed.
4. The update process will restart
from the beginning.



USB is removed during the update
process:
1. Error message will be displayed.
2. Insert the USB drive back in the
USB port.
3. Select OK.
4. The system will reboot and start
from the beginning.
5. After the system reboots, select
‘Yes’ to restart the update
process.
