Audi of America is pleased to inform you of the release and automatic delivery of the Audi R8 Minimum
Required Tools (MRT) Shipment.
Starting March 7, 2016, all Audi R8 dealers will be shipped one AT-384 Audi R8 Special Tool Package,
Freight F.O.B. Snap-On OEM and invoiced directly by the Audi Special Tools Program (Snap-On Business
Solutions - SBS).
For dealers that wish to order additional AT-384 Special Tool Packages, please notify the Audi Tools and
Equipment program by contacting us at 800-892-9650. Additional orders will be filled with remaining stock
in the order received.

Tool Description

T40178A/1 – Adapter
Used for checking the oil level after replacing the oil sensor.
The special tool T40178A/1 is used in conjunction with the oil
level test tool T40178 and T40178A.
Note: T40178A/1 can be used with your existing T40178 or
T40178A for checking and adjusting the oil level on the new
Audi R8.
To use your existing T10478 with T10478A/1 for checking
and adjusting the oil level on the new Audi R8, please follow
the modification instructions found in ElsaPro.

Should you choose not to perform the recommended
modification to your existing T40178, T40178A is available
for purchase through the Audi Tools and Equipment program.
