To prevent damage to the wire harness over the service life of the vehicle, the wire harness for the
radiator fan must be secured to the water tube in the heat guide plate area.

Fit tie-wrap clip on wire harness for radiator fan.
2.1

Fit tie-wrap clip around the wire harness as
shown  Fitting tie-wrap clip and close it, but
do not tighten it yet.
Depending on how the harness is routed,
it may be difficult to reroute to the desired
position as shown in the diagram. In this
case, it is important to assure that the
harness is sufficiently pulled away from the
heat shield to avoid any potential contact.

2.2

The tie-wrap clip should be secured at a
defined distance from the connector on the
wire harness.
To do this, measure a distance of  Securing
tie-wrap -X = 70 mm- from the lower edge
of the connector using a ruler and mark this
position on the wire harness.

Position tie-wrap clip at the marking and
tighten it using needle-nose pliers.

Cut off the extra length at the end of the
tie-wrap using side cutters.

Clip in tie-wrap clip on the coolant pipe above
the main wire harness.

Check that the wire harness is routed
correctly and has sufficient clearance from
the heat guide plate.

Reassemble the vehicle according to the following
instructions.

cover'.

Install lower part of rear spoiler  Workshop Manual '66591900 Removing and installing lower part
of rear spoiler'.

Lower the vehicle and remove it from the lifting platform  Workshop Manual '4X00IN Lifting the
vehicle'.
7.1

Lower the vehicle onto the 9453 - access ramps with the lifting platform.

7.2

Remove mounting plates 9002 - Lifting platform holders and install the covers on the
underbody  Workshop Manual '518119 Removing and installing jacking points'.

Enter the campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.

Repairing wire harness for radiator fan (Scope 2)
In case Scope 2 is required, please submit a PTEC-TLAR to PCNA for further instructions.

Claim Submission
Service Level:

This campaign must be carried out by a Service Level 2 Porsche Dealer.
Service Level 0 Porsche Dealers are not authorized to carry out this campaign.
In accordance with the service concept for the 918 Spyder, the vehicle must be transferred to the nearest
Service Level 2 Porsche Dealer in order to carry out this campaign.
In this case, Service Level 0 Porsche Dealers can invoice the cost items listed below for vehicle
acceptance, transporting the vehicle and accepting the vehicle following return transport using the new
vehicle warranty for the vehicle in accordance with the specifications in the 918 Spyder AfterSales Fact
Book 2014:
• Vehicle acceptance

• Transporting the vehicle

100 TU

• Acceptance of the vehicle following return transport

50 TU

• Costs for transporting the vehicle to and from the Porsche Centre

specifying Coding C9020 9735 in PQIS. Also specify Campaign AF05 under Comment.

Checking routing of wire harness and securing wire harness to the coolant pipe using an additional tie-wrap clip.
