DEFECT DESCRIPTION:
On certain LT™ Series models, the auxiliary fog light pre-wire may not have been
installed. This will require the wiring to be added, the Lighting Control Module (LCM) to
be replaced and the Body Control Module (BCM) to be updated.
ELIGIBILITY:
This procedure applies ONLY to vehicles marked in the International® Service PortalSM
with FSC 17108. Also complete any other open campaigns listed on the Service Portal
at this time.

WORK INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! To prevent property damage, personal injury, and / or death, park
vehicle on hard flat surface, turn the engine off, set the parking brake, and install
wheel chocks to prevent the vehicle from moving in both directions.
WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, always wear safe eye
protection when performing vehicle maintenance.
WARNING! To prevent property damage, personal injury, and / or death, keep
flames or sparks away from vehicle and do not smoke while servicing the
vehicle’s batteries. Batteries expel explosive gases.

1. Park vehicle on flat surface.
2. Shift transmission to Park or Neutral and set parking brake.
3. Install wheel chocks.
4. Unlatch and remove battery box cover.
5. Disconnect ground cable from negative terminal of main vehicle battery.

7. Release connector lock (Figure 2, Item 1) and unplug LCM.

NOTE: Prior to removing switches, make note of the location of each switch.
Switches must be installed in the same location on the new LCM.
8. Release switches from LCM by inserting appropriate tool in switch release holes
(Figure 3, Items 1 and 2). Remove switches.
9. Press switches into new LCM. Ensure the switches remain in their original location.
10. Insert wiring harness connector into new LCM and engage connector lock.
11. Press new LCM into dash.
12. Cut yellow wire into two 25-in lengths.
13. Install terminal 3574285C1 at one end of each wire.
14. Install terminal 3544876C1 at the other end of each wire.
15. Remove kick panel to access BCM.
16. Unplug Connector 1603 from BCM.
17. Open hood.

18. Disconnect Connector 1700 at bulkhead from engine bay side of connector.

19. Remove connector terminal lock from back of Connector 1603.
20. Using newly created harness, insert end with terminal 3544876C1 into Cavity F
(Figure 4, Item 1) on connector 1603.

21. Remove connector terminal lock from back of Connector 1700.
22. Insert opposite end of newly created harness into Cavity 22 (Figure 5, Item 1) on
Connector 1700 from inside cab.

23. Using second newly created harness, insert end with terminal 3544876C1 into
Cavity K (Figure 4, Item 2) on Connector 1603.
24. Install connector terminal lock onto back of Connector 1603.
25. Plug Connector 1603 into BCM.
26. Insert opposite end of wire into Cavity 23 (Figure 5, Item 2) on Connector 1700 from
inside cab.
27. Install connector terminal lock onto back of Connector 1700.
28. Reconnect Connector 1700.
29. Close and latch hood.
30. Route wiring to follow existing wiring harness.
31. Using 14-in cable ties, secure newly routed harness every 14 inches, ensuring no
contact is made with other ground circuits, moving parts, or metal surfaces.
32. Re-install kick panel.
33. Connect ground cable to negative terminal of main vehicle battery. Using a torque
wrench, tighten to 142 - 177 lb-in (16 - 20 N•m).
34. Apply Grafo dielectric grease to negative ground terminal.
35. Install battery box cover and latch.
NOTE: It is necessary to keep the driver-side door open during this procedure.
With the dome light illuminated, the Body Controller Module (BCM) will remain
activated.
36. Open driver-side door and leave open.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle batteries are properly charged. If necessary, use a smart
charger during programming.
37. Connect EZ-Tech® or EST to vehicle.
38. Launch Diamond Logic Builder® (DLB).

40. Locate campaign FIX1081. Check the APPLY box for this campaign (Figure 6, Item
2).

resetting.
43. Disconnect EZ-Tech® or EST from vehicle.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

Warranty claim expense is to be charged to Warranty. Claims are to be submitted in the
normal manner, making reference to Field Service Campaign 17108.
Section 7 of the Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual contains further information
related to the submission and processing of AFC / Recall claims.
As with all claim submissions, items acquired locally must be submitted in the “Other
Charges” tab. The cost of any bulk items (such as a bag of cable tie straps, roll of wire,
barrel of oil, or tube of silicone) should be prorated for the cost of the individual pieces /
amount used during each repair.
To make sure this important improvement is made in a timely manner, all claims for
17108 activity must be submitted by 02 May 2018 or within the normal warranty period
for the component, if after 02 May 2018.
