REMOVAL PROCEDURE:
1. Remove drain plug (Figure 1, Item 6) and washer (Figure 1, Item 5) from the oil pan (Figure 1, Item 4). Drain the engine oil and discard.
(See Engine Oil Filter and Oil Replacement Procedure in the Engine Service Manual)
2. Remove the oil filter from the engine and discard. (See Engine Oil Filter and Oil Replacement Procedure in the Engine Service
Manual)
3. Remove the dipstick tube assembly from the oil pan and engine. (See Engine Oil Dipstick Tube Removal Procedure in the Engine
Service Manual)

4. Disconnect the air compressor drain hose from the oil pan adaptor.
5. Remove the engine starter assembly. (See Starter Motor Service Procedure in the Engine Service Manual)
6. Remove the two dust shields attached to the flywheel housing on each side of the engine (two bolts each).
7. Remove the two M12 oil pan to flywheel housing bolts.
8. Remove the eight M8 bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) and four M8 nuts securing the oil pan (Figure 1, Item 4) and remove the oil pan (Figure 1,
Item 4) from the engine block (Figure 1, Item 1).
9. Remove the oil pan gasket (Figure 1, Item 2) from the oil pan (Figure 1, Item 4) and discard.
10. Remove residual Blue Loctite© from M8 bolts (Figure 1, Item 3), M8 studs, and M12 bolts.
11. Remove residual RTV from the oil pan (Figure 1, Item 4), engine block (Figure 1, Item 1), and front cover.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

1. Install the new oil pan gasket (Figure 1, Item 2) onto the oil pan (Figure 1, Item 4).
2. Apply Permatex Grey RTV on the four inner corners (Figure 2, Item 1) near the semi-circular sealing surface on the engine block and front
cover.
3. Apply Blue Loctite© onto the threads of the eight M8 bolts (Figure 2, Item 2), four M8 studs, and two M12 bolts.

4. Install the oil pan onto the engine and install the eight M8 bolts and four M8 nuts holding it in place but leaving the oil pan adjustable.
5. Install the two M12 oil pan to flywheel housing bolts and torque to 70 ft­lbs (95 Nm).
6. Torque the eight M8 bolts and four M8 nuts in the sequence shown in Figure 3 below to 22 ft-lbs (30 Nm).

7. Install the two dust shields on both sides of the oil pan to the flywheel housing torque the four bolts to 90 in-lbs (10 Nm).
8. Install the engine starter assembly. (See Starter Motor Service Procedure in the Engine Service Manual)
9. Install the air compressor drain hose onto the oil pan adaptor and torque to 40 ft-lbs (54 Nm).
10. Install the dipstick tube onto the oil pan and engine. (See Engine Oil Dipstick Tube Installation Procedure in the Engine Service
Manual)
11. Install a new oil filter onto the engine. (See Engine Oil Filter and Oil Replacement Procedure in the Engine Service Manual)
12. Install the drain plug (Figure 1, Item 6) and washer (Figure 1, Item 5) into the oil pan (Figure 1, Item 4). (See Engine Oil Filter and Oil
Replacement Procedure in the Engine Service Manual)
13. Fill the engine with approved oil (See Engine Oil Filter and Oil Replacement Procedure in the Engine Service Manual)
