Our goal at IMT is to continuously look for ways to improve our manufacturing processes so we can ensure our

customers are receiving the highest quality product and service. This general bulletin is to notify our distributors

that a leak is possible from the hydraulic swivel couplings on models 9/65 through 26/180, especially with high

temperatures in the hydraulic system. The leak will develop as and remain a slow leak. The defect was detected

through warranty claims filed by customers. This bulletin contains instructions and an order form for warranty

parts and labor hours located on the last page.

The table below lists the part numbers. When ordering your hydraulic swivel couplings, please provide the part

numbers, along with the serial number of the crane.

Hydraulic Swivel Couplings
General bulletin 2016006, affects 9/65 through 26/180 model cranes,

is to notify our distributors that a hydraulic leak, especially with high

temperatures in the hydraulic system, can occure to a built-in seal

inside the swivel coupling (not visible) due to a variation in the manufacturing process on two purchased part numbers:

58479 - Swivel, M24 x 1.5, which is installed in the hydraulic

circuit for the “extension out” function and the winch.

58478 - Swivel Coupling, M18 x 1.5 is installed in all other hyraulic

circuits.

The affected above-mentioned cranes were delivered to the distributor’s locations between September 14, 2015 (38-15) through September 30, 2016 (39-16).

There will be an engraved manufacturing date stamped on a specific

location on the outside of the swivel coupling. The picture example in

Fig. 2, shows SAMPLE, and below this is the stamped number,

41-16. This number represents the week number of the year that it

was manufactured. Any number that is stamped with 38-15 to 39-16,

followed by the affected part number of 58478 or 58479, might need

replacing.
