Subject: Discharge Anaconda line for NABI CNG 40ft and 31ft


Part # 800.219.1C.HP
Effective Date: Immediate

Action Required: No action required for NABI/DART.

Sutrak Representatives will conduct the modification.
Description of Issue

A large number of buses have developed refrigeration leaks at the compressor discharge anaconda line. The purpose of this FMI is to change the Discharge Anaconda

line assembly with the correct 1.39 Anaconda line on the remaining Buses that have

the smaller 1.25 Anaconda.

Parts Needed:

1-Discharge anaconda assembly _ Part # 800.219.1C.HP

1-7/8 coupler _ Part # 557.420

Tools Needed:

Hand tools

Refrigeration gauge set

Small tubing cutter

Repair/Installation procedure:

Turn off the bus and key switch at A/C distribution box.

Remove Compressor cover

Remove curbside condenser fan

Install refrigerant gauges at compressor

Isolate the discharge anaconda line by closing the Suction service valve at compressor and the service valve by the condenser check valve.

6- Apply 24v to solenoid valve and Recover any refrigerant if present on high side at

top service valve for filter dryer.

7- Loosen Discharge valve at compressor

8- Cut tubing inside unit and tape off to prevent moisture in line.

9- Remove discharge anaconda line assembly

10- Measure and cut new anaconda line assembly to match the length of the one removed

11- Solder a 7/8 coupler on new assembly

12- Install new assembly and solder joint inside unit

13- Install R134a adapter fitting and high pressure switch from old assembly

14- Open Suction service valve

15- Open service valve at condenser

16- Vacuum from service valve above filter dryer for approx 1 hr

17- Add 134a refrigerant as needed

18- Turn on key at A/C distribution box

19- Start bus and run A/C for approx 30 minutes

20- Add 134a refrigerant as need until ball in receiver is ¾ to full
