LEVEL 1: PROCEDURE

1.1.
Open the rear engine access door.
1.2.
Locate the A/C compressor. See Figure 1.

1.3.
Remove the A/C compressor belt in accordance with section 14: HEATING AND VENTILATION in the Nova Bus

maintenance manual. Discard the belt.
1.4.
Check if M12 Nordlock washers (8x), M12 class 10.9 bolts (4x) and M12 class 10.9 nuts (4x) which maintain

the compressor plate on the A/C compressor support, are already installed. See Figure 1. If not in place, go

to Level 2.

Remove the four rubber mounts on the A/C compressor support. See Figure 2.

1.6.
Install the new N74196 (3x) and N70081(1x) rubber mounts on the A/C compressor support. See Figure 3.

Install the new N78165 compressor belt in accordance with section 14: HEATING AND VENTILATION in the Nova

Bus maintenance manual.

Align the compressor belt in accordance with section 14: HEATING AND VENTILATION in the Nova Bus maintenance

manual.

Tension the compressor belt in accordance with section 14:

maintenance manual.

Disregard the belt tension value in the maintenance manual. Apply a tension value of 220 ±5 lb (980 ±22 newtons)

to the compressor belt.
1.11.
Close the rear engine access door.
1.12.
Start the engine and let it run for 30 minutes.
1.13.
Open the rear engine access door.
1.14.
Re-tension the compressor belt in accordance with section 14:

maintenance manual.

to the compressor belt.

At the next scheduled service at 3,000 or 6,000 miles (5,000 or 10,000 km), re-tension the belt to 190 lb (845

newtons).
LEVEL 2: INSTALL NEW HARDWARE AS NEEDED FROM STEP 1.4

Remove the compressor plate M12 bolts (4x), nuts (4x) and washers. See Figure 5. Discard the hardware.
