SUBJECT:

DRIVER’S SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH REPLACEMENT

This bulletin provides the procedure to replace the window motor switch of some 2014MY
Sorento (XMa) vehicles, produced from December 17, 2012 through December 13, 2013, which
may exhibit an intermittent parasitic draw concern. Before conducting this repair, verify that TSB
ELE057/SA163 - IPM Logic Improvement - has been performed on the vehicle. This procedure
applies ONLY to vehicles equipped with Integrated Memory System (IMS) Seats.

Master Power Window Switch

CAUTION
Use a non-marring trim removal tool (Such as Snap-on® Part Number PBN5 or
equivalent) to avoid breaking tabs and/or damaging trim pieces.

Service Procedure:
1.

Turn the ignition to the “OFF” position
and open the driver’s side door.

 NOTICE
Verify the vehicle is equipped with
an IMS switch.

2.

Remove the quadrant inner cover using
a non-marring plastic remover.

CAUTION
Exercise caution when removing the
quadrant inner cover as it can be
easily damaged.

3.

Depress the lock pin to disconnect the
speaker connector.

Remove the door grip handle cover
using a non-marring plastic remover.

5.

Remove the screw securing the upper
portion of the door grip.

6.

Remove the screw securing the lower
portion of the door grip.

Remove cover from inside door handle
trim area and remove the screw.

8.

Remove cap from outermost door panel
mounting location and remove the
screw.

9.

Remove trim cover and cap from inside
the door handle pocket and remove the
screw.

Remove cap from innermost door panel
mounting location and remove the
screw.

11.

Use a non-marring plastic remover to
dislodge bottom edge of the door panel.

12.

Gently remove the door panel. Note:
Make
sure
to
disconnect
all
connectors from behind the door
panel, prior to removal.

13.

Remove the screws securing the power
window switch.

14.

Install the replacement window switch, and all other removed components, by reversing
the order of removal.
