RECALL — All models.
TOUGHPAD
TIN-17-00-002 was released recently and states:
“Panasonic, the manufacturer of the Toughpad
tablet which currently supports the MEDIC 4
software that MMNA currently uses, has issued
a recall for the tablet. Panasonic has identified a
certain small number of cases where the tablet
has been involved in a thermal incident.
Currently, Panasonic is investigating this small
number of incidents but has not determined the
root cause of the failure. In an attempt to address
this issue as soon as possible, Panasonic has
released an update to address any potential
problems with the Toughpad machine in the

Panasonic, MMNA will shortly release a

If you replace a TPMS sensor on any 2014 - 2017
Mirage or 2017 Mirage G4 you are required to
submit a photo to the PRC. The photo must
clearly show whether or not the TPMS sensor
(body) was attached to the wheel (valve stem)
when the tire was dismounted. If the photo does
not show the proper detail, dealers may be
debited for the claim. The supplier requires this
type of photo in order to perform further
analysis.
NOTE: Following are two examples of a “Good”
(acceptable)
photo
and
“Not
Good”
(unacceptable) photo for submission to the PRC.
The “Good” photo shows that the sensor was
attached to the wheel when brought in to the
dealer.
The “Not Good” photo shows only the outside of
the wheel and does not show where the sensor
was in relation to the wheel and tire upon
arrival at the dealership.
Please continue posting the TPMS sensor photos
to the PRC until a cancellation notice is published
by MMNA headquarters. Upload PRC photos
into the category titled “TPMS Sensors in Wheel
Photos.”
“GOOD” Example of Photo Submitted to PRC
TIN-17-31-001:
PHOTO
REQUIRED
CONDITION (PRC) FOR TPMS SENSOR
REPLACEMENT - REVISED — 2014-17 Mirage
and 2017 Mirage G4.
TIN-17-31-001 was released recently and states:
“When replacing a TPMS sensor under warranty
on 2014 – 2017 Mirage and 2017 Mirage G4
vehicles, accurate photos and a completed
“TPMS Reception Issue” Questionnaire MUST
be posted to the Photo Required Condition & Pre
Approval Center. If no photos and/or
questionnaire are submitted, or photos are
submitted that do not show the proper detail (see
examples in this TIN), dealers are in jeopardy of
being debited for the claim.
“NOT GOOD” Example of Photo Submitted to PRC
The following are REQUIRED for all TPMS
sensor claims:
1. Return the entire TPMS transmitter and valve
stem.
In addition to posting the photo, please report
the failure DTC(s) on the PRC report, and add a
comment describing whether or not the tire had
ever been dismounted prior to this service (e.g.,
YES - The tire was dismounted prior to this
service, or NO - the tire was never dismounted
prior to this service). If it is not apparent that the
tire was previously dismounted, the customer
should be able to provide that information.
MMNA will issue a Warranty Parts Return
Request for all replaced (Mirage) TPMS sensors
(which includes the valve stem and bulb in
addition to the sensor body).
2. A photo of the TPMS transmitter and valve
stem taken when the tire was dismounted at
your dealership. The photo must show whether
or not the sensor was attached to the wheel
(valve stem) or loose inside the tire upon arrival.
GOOD photos: Below are two examples of
“Good” photos submitted to the PRC. In one
case, the sensor was attached to the wheel, and
the other shows it was loose in the tire.
Once returned, the TPMS sensors will be
combined with their respective PRC photos and
forwarded to the supplier for analysis.

3. Completed Questionnaire “TPMS Reception
Issue.” This can be found on MDL or through the
Techline Main Screen.

4. Select the category “TPMS SENSORS IN
WHEEL PHOTOS.”
5. Enter the following in the “Defect Description
and Projected Repair Process” field in the PRC:
NOT GOOD photos: Below are two examples of
“Not Good” or unacceptable photos submitted
to the PRC.
A photo of the sensor by itself or of the outside
of the wheel does NOT show where the sensor
was in relation to the wheel and tire upon arrival
at the dealership.
A list of the failure DTCs that were set.
Whether or not the tire was previously
dismounted prior to this service (for
example, “Yes, the tire was dismounted” or
“No, the tire was never dismounted).
Obtain this information from the customer
if necessary.
EXAMPLES OF SUBMITTED COMMENTS
GOOD EXAMPLE: “TPMS light remains on.
DTC C1931 will not erase. Customer reported tire
was never previously dismounted. TPMS sensor
was attached to the wheel when the tire was
dismounted.”
NOT GOOD EXAMPLE: “Sensor failed.”
NOT GOOD EXAMPLES OF SUBMITTED PHOTOS
(neither photo shows if sensor is attached to wheel or not)
NOTE: Photos must be posted on the PRC
before entering the related Warranty claim.
MMNA will issue a Warranty Parts Return
Request for all replaced (Mirage) TPMS sensors
(which includes the valve stem).
Please continue posting the TPMS sensor photos
to the PRC until a cancellation notice is published
by MMNA headquarters.”

RECALL CAMPAIGN — Certain 2012 & 2014
i-MiEV.
When repairing a sunroof on Endeavor vehicles,
technicians
are
reminded
to
follow
TSB-11-42A-006, “Sunroof Glass Adjustment
Procedure.” This TSB contains adjustment
procedures that should help resolve wind noise
complaints and water leaks around the sunroof
glass.
ATIN-17-SR-001-A was released recently and
states:
“A recall campaign will be released today for the
front passenger air bag inflator equipped on
certain 2012 and 2014 i-MiEV vehicles built from
October 28, 2011 to September 3, 2014. The Recall
Campaign Bulletin, SR-17-001, outlining the
repair procedure will be available today on
MEDIC and MDL.
TT
GROUP 55 − Heater, Air Conditioning
and Ventilation
Vehicles equipped with a front passenger Takata
air bag inflator containing ammonium nitrate,
are at risk of inflator rupture during a collision.
An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments
to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle
interior at high speed, which may result in injury
or death to vehicle occupants.
INCONSISTENT AIRFLOW OR
TEMPERATURE FROM HVAC VENTS —
2013-15 Outlander Sport/RVR.
Should a customer complain about inconsistent
airflow output or temperature variations from
the front vents on either side of the vehicle, it may
not be necessary to replace the entire HVAC
assembly. Inspect first for loose foam on the edge
of the doors inside the upper heater case of the
HVAC assembly (2 examples shown below).
Repair or replace the foam as needed.
Notification letters will be sent to owners of
affected vehicles, requesting they contact their
local Certified Mitsubishi
i-MiEV dealership to
schedule an appointment to have this recall
performed. If you are NOT a Certified
Mitsubishi
i-MiEV dealer and a customer
contacts you regarding this recall, please refer
the customer to Mitsubishi
Customer Relations
(888-648-7820), to assist the customer locate the
nearest Certified Mitsubishi
i-MiEV dealership.
Some Certified Mitsubishi
i-MiEV dealers have
been force allocated stock using a formula based
on the proximity and percentage of applicable
registered VINs by ZIP code. Parts shipments
were processed via the 'R' order type and started
shipping along with your scheduled stock order
beginning 03/07/2017. Dealers may place
additional orders via the MDL. Please refer to
Parts Bulletin 52-IM-01-17 for additional
information.
Dealers must review the Warranty Superscreen
to confirm if any vehicles in their new or used
vehicle inventories are affected, and conduct this
campaign prior to delivering them. When
checking for applicability of this campaign
(C1701E), please check for and complete any
other open campaigns. Always obtain the
customer's approval before completing a
campaign on a customer owned vehicle.

The replaced inflator must be returned to Takata
directly for testing and analysis. Dealers must
follow the return shipping procedure outlined in
SR-17-001. Please note that the air bag inflator
return process for this campaign may be
different from other Takata air bag inflator
campaigns (e.g., SR-14-012, SR-15-007, and
SR-16-002).
Completion of this recall is an extremely
important initiative for MMNA. To support
completion of this recall, owners will be
informed that a rental/loaner vehicle will be
available to them during completion of this
recall. Please prioritize this repair in your shop
scheduling. To minimize inconveniences for
your customers, please ensure every eligible
customer is provided with a rental car upon
request.”

IMPORTANT
Affected new or used inventory vehicles must be
repaired before the vehicle is delivered. Dealers
must check their inventory vehicles' VINs on the
Warranty Superscreen to verify whether the vehicle
is involved in a recall campaign. It is a violation of
Federal law for a dealer to deliver a new motor
vehicle or any new or used item of motor vehicle
equipment (including a tire) covered by the
notification under a sale or lease until the defect or
noncompliance is remedied.
