This repair is the same as Service Action SA-06-0280. Use this Quarantine Notice for vehicles that
are not registered and have not been given to a Customer.
Some vehicles in the affected VIN list for this Quarantine may now be registered and given to a
Customer. Make sure that you do a check of the Online Dealer Warranty (ODW) database to
make sure that all necessary work is done to every vehicle.

Reason for this Quarantine Notice
The first 17.5MY and 18MY Vanquish S and Vanquish Zagato vehicles were delivered with the DSC (Dynamic Stability
Control) "Track Mode" feature disabled. Also, it was not possible to set the DSC system to off. We did this to let us
optimise the software to suit the new spring and damper settings and the revised engine and transmission calibration of
these models.
We have now updated the Electric Brake System (EBS) software. Do the procedure that follows to make sure that all
applicable vehicles have the “Track Mode” feature enabled.
When you have installed the software, you must also install a changed Car Configuration File (CCF) to enable “Track
Mode” and the DSC on/off function. The CCF can be changed only by the Parts Operations team of Aston Martin
Lagonda Ltd. Parts Operations will change a copy of the CCF stored on the company servers at Aston Martin. You can
then download the changed CCF through the AMDS and install the file into the Central Electric Module (CEM).
Note:

Parts Operations may not be able to make changes to the CCF while you wait. Thus, you must plan to
copy the CCF from the vehicle on one day – refer to Part A. You must then do the full procedure – refer to
Parts B and C – on a different day when you have the software and the changed CCF.

Workshop Procedure
Part A – Make a copy of the Car Configuration File (CCF)
1.

Refer to Service Policy Letter SPL-30-0510 for information about how to get a CCF changed.

CAUTION:

WHEN YOU CONNECT THE AMDS TO THE VEHICLE, THE CCF IN THE VEHICLE WILL BE
AUTOMATICALLY READ AND COPIED TO THE AMDS. THIS WILL OVERWRITE ANY CCF THAT
IS ALREADY ON THE AMDS INCLUDING ANY MODIFIED CCF THAT YOU HAVE
DOWNLOADED FOR THAT VEHICLE.

2.

Use the AMDS to read the installed CCF.

3.

Click on the print button to print the CCF to the “PDF 666” option in the AMDS and save the file.

Send the CCF to Parts Operations – quote Part Number 707301 – and ask them to make the changes that
follow:
• Change parameter number 127 from “0x01” to “0x02”.
• Change parameter number 6 (RH-BRAKESYSTEM) as follows:
For Vanquish S Coupe – change to “0x32”.
For Vanquish S Volante – change to “0x33”.
For Vanquish Zagato Coupe – change to “0x34”.

5.

Close the AMDS software.

6.

Disconnect the AMDS from the vehicle.

Part B – Install the updated software
CAUTION:

CONNECT A BATTERY CHARGER TO THE VEHICLE BATTERY DURING THE PROCEDURE THAT
FOLLOWS. IF THE VEHICLE BATTERY DISCHARGES, THE SOFTWARE UPDATE CAN FAIL AND
CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EMS.

CAUTION:

CONNECT THE AMDS TO AN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY WHEN YOU DO THE PROCEDURE THAT
FOLLOWS. IF THE AMDS BATTERY BECOMES DISCHARGED DURING THE SOFTWARE
UPDATE, THE UPDATE CAN FAIL AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EMS.

7.

Make sure that your AMDS software is at Version 2.53 or newer.

8.

Connect the AMDS to the vehicle.

9.

Click on the “EBS” icon in the “Module Flash Program” in the AMDS.

10.

Flash the EBS module with the newest version of the software.

Make sure that the AMDS selects the correct software file for the vehicle. Refer to Table 1.

11. If the file name is correct, click “YES”.
12. The AMDS will update the EBS module.
13. When the update is complete, the AMDS will show the “Flash Programming Finished” dialogue box. Obey the
instructions shown.
Part C – Install the changed Car Configuration File (CCF)
14. Refer to Service Policy Letter SPL-30-0510 for information about how to install a Car Configuration File (CCF)
into a vehicle.
CAUTION:

WHEN YOU CONNECT THE AMDS TO THE VEHICLE, THE CCF IN THE VEHICLE WILL BE
AUTOMATICALLY READ AND COPIED TO THE AMDS. THIS WILL OVERWRITE ANY CCF THAT
IS ALREADY ON THE AMDS INCLUDING ANY MODIFIED CCF THAT YOU HAVE
DOWNLOADED FOR THAT VEHICLE.

15. Refer to Service Policy Letter SPL-30-0510 and install the changed CCF into the CEM of the vehicle.

16. Do a check for EBS DTCs and delete all codes shown.
17. Close the AMDS software.
18. Disconnect the AMDS from the vehicle.
19. Do a functional test to make sure that the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system operates correctly.
20. Set the ignition to on. The default setting of the DSC system is on, each time the ignition is set to on. The DSC
symbol in the tachometer will come on for five seconds and will go off when the system check is complete.
21. Push and hold the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) button for four seconds to select “Track Mode”.
22. Push and hold the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) button for four seconds again to set DSC to off.
23. Push and release the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) button to set DSC to on again.
