Reason for this Service Action
A spigot for a coolant hose may be out of tolerance on the left side auxiliary radiator on some early build DB11 vehicles.
A check must be done to make sure the outlet hose for the Water-Air Charge Air Cooler (WACAC) is correctly connected
to the auxiliary radiator.

Workshop Procedure
WARNING:

LET THE COOLING SYSTEM BECOME COOL BEFORE YOU DO WORK. THE COOLING SYSTEM
IS VERY HOT AFTER OPERATION AND HOT COOLANT CAN CAUSE INJURY.

CAUTION:

LET THE COOLING SYSTEM BECOME COOL BEFORE YOU OPEN THE SYSTEM FILLER CAP. IF
YOU REMOVE THE CAP WHILE THE SYSTEM IS WARM, THE SYSTEM CAN BE FILLED TO THE
INCORRECT LEVEL.

CAUTION:

USE TOOLS THAT HAVE PROTECTIVE SLEEVES OR TAPE APPLIED WHEN YOU REMOVE OR
INSTALL A WHEEL THAT HAS A PAINTED FINISH. THE FINISH CAN BE EASILY DAMAGED BY
TOOLS.

1.

Remove the front left side wheel (refer to Workshop manual procedure 04.04.EC).

2.

Remove the screw that attaches the front section of the
front left side wheel arch liner (refer to Figure 1)

Remove the 10 screws that attach the front section of
the front left side wheel arch liner to the body (refer to
Figure 2).

Remove the reinforcement bracket for the wheel arch
liner (refer to Figure 3).

CAUTION:

DO NOT BEND THE WHEEL ARCH LINER TOO MUCH DURING THE STEP THAT FOLLOWS.
THE WHEEL ARCH LINER CAN CRACK EASILY.

Release the front section of the front left side wheel
arch liner (refer to Figure 4).

Remove the front section of the front left side wheel
arch liner (refer to Figure 5).

7.

Examine the WACAC hose connection into the left side
auxiliary radiator (refer to Figure 6). It is possible that
the attachment clip is not fully engaged to hold the
hose correctly.

If necessary, push the clip down from the top until it
engages in the installed position to attach the hose.

CAUTION:

DO NOT BEND THE WHEELARCH LINER TOO MUCH DURING THE STEP THAT FOLLOWS. THE
WHEELARCH LINER CAN CRACK EASILY.

Put the front section of the front left side wheel arch
liner back into position (refer to Figure 7).

10. Install the reinforcement bracket for the wheel arch
liner (refer to Figure 8).

11. Install the 10 screws that attach the front section of the
front left side wheel arch liner to the body (refer to
Figure 9).

12. Install the screw that attaches the front section of the
front left side wheel arch liner (refer to Figure 10).

Install the front left side wheel (refer to Workshop manual procedure 04.04.EC).
