Acura would like to keep you informed of communications related to recalls and safety improvement
campaigns involving Takata airbag inflators. Below is a summary of the most recent communications
related to this very important matter.
Airbag Inflator Update Video to Dealers
A video message from Bruce Smith, Senior VP of American Honda’
s Parts, Service & Technical
Division, was posted on iN on February 10 and included important airbag inflator information and
instructions for dealers.

feedback received from customers.
Changes to the Acura Recalls W ebsite
You may notice that American Honda’
s recall URLs (recalls.acura.com and recalls.honda.com) now
point to a single website where customers can look up open recalls and safety improvement
campaigns on both Acura and Honda vehicles, as well as Honda powersports products. This change
occurred to better align the recall data reported on this site with data reported on NHTSA’
s
Safercar.gov site, as both sites now pull data from the same source.
It’
s important to note that the URL for Acura’
s recalls page has not changed. Please continue to direct customers to recalls.acura.com.

On the site, customers can now look up open recalls either by VIN or by a vehicle’
s year, make and
model. If a customer searches for open recalls by year, make and model, the site will report all recalls
potentially affecting the vehicle. To know if a vehicle is included in an open recall and to see the
Recall Status, a VIN must be entered. This functionality aligns with the recall lookup functionality on
Safercar.gov.
We will continue to make improvements to this site to provide a more appropriate brand experience
for our customers.
