Condition
Some customers may comment that the shifter knob is rattling.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a loose shifter knob retaining screw.
Correction
If the shifter knob retaining screw is found to be the
cause, the fastener needs to be torqued to proper
specifications.
3. Remove the fastener.
4. Apply thread locker, GM P/N 19333511 (In
Canada, use 10953489), to the shift knob fastener
and install.
Tighten
Service Procedure
Tighten the fastener to 7 Y (62 lb in).
5. Install the transmission control lever boot to the
console.
Warranty Information
For vehicles repaired under warranty, use:

1. Using a flat-bladed trim tool, detach the
transmission control lever boot (1) from the
console.
2. Lift the transmission control lever boot to access
the shift knob fastener (2).
