Installing an Accessory Trunk Spoiler? Always Use the Metric
Rotabroach Master Hole Cutting Kit and the Deburring Tool

The clips holding the accessory trunk spoiler in place are very sensitive to material thickness around the edges of the
trunk lid holes. If there are any metal burrs in the holes, the clips won't seat properly and you'll wind up with gaps or a
loose fit between the spoiler and the trunk lid. Poorly seated clips can also cause water leaks into the trunk compartment,
leading to comebacks.
To ensure a trouble-free and leak-free installation, be sure to use the Metric Rotabroach Master Hole Cutting Kit
(T/N BLR11201 SO) and the Deburring Tool (T/N DEBUR300). Both of these are required special tools that, used
together, will produce clean, burr-free holes.

The Rotabroach kit includes various size Rotabroach bits that do the job quickly without bending the sheet metal or
tearing through it.
The deburring tool gives the finishing touch. Just pop in either one of the black interchangeable blades (the silver one is
just for brass or cast iron), insert the tool into each of the trunk lid holes, and whirl it around with your wrist so the
spinning blade scrapes all of the edges of the hole. Make sure you vary the tool angle so your reach all of the edges.
Also, be sure to deburr the backside of the hole. Backside burrs can keep the clip from properly engaging. Click HERE to

If you get a vehicle with a previously installed accessory trunk spoiler that has gaps or is loose, remove the spoiler,
thoroughly deburr the front and backside of each trunk lid hole with the de burring tool, make sure the mounting surface is
clean and free of any adhesive materials, then reinstall or replace the spoiler as needed.
All current installation instructions call out the Rotobroach kit and deburring tool, although some earlier ones may not.
