BACKGROUND

The PCM software does not meet OBDII regulations.
CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the PCM software.
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION

Owners of affected vehicles will be sent a notification of this campaign.
Do an iN VIN status inquiry to make sure the vehicle is shown as eligible.
Some vehicles affected by this campaign may be in your new or used inventory. Repair these vehicles before they are
sold.
NOTE: For California dealers only, make sure to give your client a Vehicle Emission Recall - Proof of Correction
certificate. See Repair Procedure for ordering information.
SOFTWARE INFORMATION

NOTE: Unnecessary or incorrect repairs resulting from a failure to update the HOS or MVCI are not covered under
warranty.
MVCI Control Module (CM) Update:
Application Version 3.01.40 or later
Database update 17-Mar-2015 or later
HOS Software Version:
3.016.018 or later
Before beginning the repair, make sure that both the HDS and MVCI are updated as listed above.
Do only the update listed in this service bulletin.

Check that the MVCI indicates the applicable program ID listed below (or a later program ID) as the Available Update
when the update begins.
If the MVCI displays This vehicle does not need an update at this time during the update, the software for this
bulletin is already installed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Update the PCM A/T software with the MVCI. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-026, Updating Control Units/Modules.

2.

For California Residents Only: Fill out a Vehicle Emissions Recall - Proof of Correction certificate, and use 5YM
as the recall number. Give the certificate to your client, and advise them to keep it as proof that the product update
was completed. Your client will need to submit the certificate to the OMV only if the OMV requests it.
