Stop Sale/Safety Recall: 2014-15 MDX A/C Compressor Clutch Bolt

On June 24, 2015 Acura notified NHTSA of a Stop Sale order and Safety Recall for 2014-2015 model year MDX
vehicles. Any new or used vehicles in dealer stock must be repaired per the relevant service bulletin prior to sale. Refer
to the eResponsibility report or VIN Inquiry status to determine which vehicles in your inventory are affected.
Problem
Due to improper e-coating during component production, the compressor clutch driver bolt may become loose and fall off,
or break. As a result, the clutch does not function properly and the A/C blows warm air.
Repair
Affected vehicles require the replacement of the compressor clutch driver bolt with a new bolt.
Parts
Acura is currently procuring repair parts to support this recall. Estimated parts availability is mid-July.
Warranty
Warranty information will be detailed in service bulletin 15-037, Safety Recall: AIC Compressor Clutch Bolt.
Service Bulletin
In support of this recall, a placeholder version of service bulletin 15-037, Safety Recall: AIC Compressor Clutch Bolt has
been posted on Service Information today, June 25, 2015. Once parts are available, the bulletin will be revised to include
warranty, parts, and procedure information.
Customer Notification
Acura expects to begin client notifications in late July 2015.
As always, make sure to check the iN VIN status inquiry to determine if a vehicle is eligible for this (or any) open recall.
