Request for Parts: 2013-2014 Accord Check Charging System on MID with OTC B1192

Background
American Honda (AHM) is investigating certain 2013-2014 Accords with a customer complaint of check charging system
message displayed on MID as well as having the OTC B1192 (Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with Battery
Sensor ECU) stored. To fully understand the cause of this condition, AHM would like to collect specific parts from the
vehicle in certain condition prior to you attempting a repair of any kind.
Qualifiers
AHM is interested ONLY if the vehicle meets the following requirement:
1. Both 2-door & 4-door as well as Hybrid & Plug-In are accepted.
2. Check Charging System message must be displayed on MID with the OTC B1192 Stored.
3. No previous battery sensor or engine compartment harness replacement.
4. No bent terminal condition.
5. Vehicle has not been in an accident or showing signs of flood damage.
Action Required
If you have or know of such a vehicle, please call the Technical Research & Support (TRS) Group at
800-880-1072. TRS will need to record certain vehicle information and provide you with further instructions.
