UPDATE: SAFETY RECALL - Starter Relay Switch Inspection/Replacement

Dear Honda Powersports Dealer:
Reminder
Many of the units affected by this recall can be sold if they pass the inspection procedure.
Inspect all affected units in your inventory immediately. Please follow the steps below to ensure
that your dealership does not miss any sales opportunities or incur any recall sell-through
violations.
Inspect Affected Units ASAP

1.

Identify affected units in your inventory by using eResponsibility Report on iN.
(To search for applicable recalls on a specific unit, use Unit Information on iN.)

2.

Inspect the affected unit according to the procedure in the Service Bulletin.
a. If the unit has an OK starter relay switch, apply the appropriate punch mark as indicated in the Service Bulletin and immediately
submit the warranty claim to avoid a recall sell-through violation.
b. OK units are eligible for retail sale. Immediately Sales Register the unit when it is sold.
c. If the starter relay switch is within the "No Good" lot number range, set the unit aside until replacement parts arrive.

NOTE: If you have repaired an affected unit with a part from another vehicle, apply the appropriate punch mark and file a warranty
claim (on the affected unit only) as indicated in the Service Bulletin.
Urgent Administrative Notice
File a warranty claim on all affected units that have been inspected and found OK by August 21, 2015. See Service Bulletin for warranty
claim templates.

Warranty claims filed for "Inspection Only" after the above date will not be paid.

Parts Information
An initial limited allocation of repair parts, based upon your dealership's affected inventory and sold units, will begin shipping on July 30.
Repair Parts will be available on open order when parts supplies are sufficient to repair all dealer and customer units.
