Dear Honda Dealer,
Beginning on June 18, 2015, a change will take place in the return procedure of driver and passenger inflator kits. This will improve the efficiency ofthe way
Honda dealers return the inflator kits to TK Holdings (Takata).
Currently, each kit is packaged with printed return instructions, a Fedex OP900 form, Fedex return label, and a plastic shipping pouch. In the new inflator kit
package, each of the above items will be eliminated and be replaced by a two part shipping label. One part of the label will have some basic instructions while
the other part will be placed on each kit to be returned.
The kits will no longer require separate FedEx documentation processed for each individual kit. Instead, each dealer will have to apply the return shipping label
as mentioned above. Once a full pallet has been accumulated (approximately 200 kits depending upon dimensions), each dealer will call the telephone number
referenced on the included instruction label and schedule a pickup. Partial pallets can still be scheduled for pickup every two weeks.
For inflator kits currently in dealer inventory or American Honda's inventory with the Fedex documentation, the FedEx barcode address label can be affixed to
the box and the other FedEx documentation/materials discarded (OP900 Form & Shipping Pouch). The instruction sheet provides further information regarding
this process.
In addition to the new shipping label that will be included in each kit, a detailed instruction sheet has been posted as a PIB (Parts Information Bulletin) on
06/18/15, which can be accessed here .
