There is a high pitched buzzing/alternator feedback from the speakers when the engine is running and the audio unit or
the rear blower motor is on.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
The dashboard wiring harness has insufficient shielding.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Do the diagnosis and depending on the result, replace the dashboard wiring harness.

DIAGNOSIS
1.
With the engine running and the rear blower off, turn the audio unit on. Then remove the A14 (15 A) fuse from the
under-hood fuse relay box.

If the buzzing is gone or is reduced, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
If the buzzing is still present, this bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE: This procedure is in outline form. If you need more details on this procedure, refer to the service

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and
procedures before doing repairs or service.
NOTE: Special Mag-Form® self-tapping bolts are used to attach the dashboard to the steering hanger beam.
If a Mag-Form® bolt hole is stripped, oversize bolts are available.
Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

1. Release the harness clips from the A-pillar.

Remove the harness clips from the gauge control module.

Remove the bolts and the nuts from the glove box area, then remove the front passenger's airbag bracket.
5.
Remove the harness clip, then disconnect the connector from the glove box area.

Install the new dashboard wiring harness.

10. Install the front passenger's airbag bracket, and torque the new nuts and bolts to 9.4 N·m (6.9 lb-ft).
11. Install the dashboard, and torque the large bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb-ft) and the small bolts to 8 N·m (5.9 lb-ft). Then
install all other parts in the reverse order of removal.

If the threaded hole for a Mag-Form® bolt is stripped, replace the bolt with an oversized Mag-Form® bolt that is
provided as a service part.
