Update Prior to Sale: Air Suspension Noise

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: A concern has been identified on 2014 model year Range Rover Sport vehicles relating to the air
suspension exhaust noise experienced in the cabin, following an ignition cycle and then intermittently during a
journey.
Action: Retailers are required to HOLD all affected vehicles within the listed VIN range that are in their control
and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action
detailed in this Technical Bulletin. Unsold vehicles should have this performed as part of the Pre-Delivery
Inspection (PDI) process. Affected vehicles already in the hands of customers should be updated at the next
available opportunity.

Warranty claims must be submitted quoting Program Code 'Q321' together with the relevant Option Code from the
table. The SRO and part information listed have been included for information only. The Option Code(s) that allows
for the drive in / drive out allowance can only be claimed if the vehicle is brought into the workshop for this action
alone to be undertaken.
This program is valid for a limited time only. Warranty claims with a repair date prior to the 08 February 2014
closure date must be submitted for payment within 30 calendar days of completion of the repair.

1. Remove load space trim cover.

Remove spare wheel.

6. Remove shell cover clips and then remove the
shell cover.

7. Remove compressor outlet pipe.

8. Remove the exhaust valve end cap and spring.

9. Pull out the exhaust valve from the housing.

NOTE: Make sure the mark is facing
the compressor.
Install the new exhaust valve to the housing with
the mark facing the compressor.

Install the exhaust end valve cap.

12. Unscrew, remove, and discard the adaptor from
the compressor outlet port.
Install the new adaptor to the compressor

outlet port.

13. Install the 8mm outlet pipe into the adaptor.

14. Reverse steps 6-1 to install removed components.
