December 19, 2013 and July 01, 2014)
2014 Mazda3 Mexico built vehicles with VINs between 3MZ BM1 ***** 101206 and 151120 (produced between
February 12, 2014 and September 09, 2014)
2015 Mazda6 vehicles with VINs between JM1 GJ ****** 168219 and 194448 (produced between January 16,
2014 and June 23, 2014)
2014-2015 CX-5 vehicles with VINs between JM3 KE ****** 426960 and 497963 (produced between December
20, 2013 and June 24, 2014)

DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit instrument cluster TPMS, ABS and TCS/DSC indicator warning lights ON and DTC
U3000:49[Standard Deployment Control System] or C0061:29, C0062:29, C0063:29 [Standard Deployment
Control System] stored in memory. The Airbag, SCBS, AT, MRCC, LDWS and HBC instrument cluster indicator
lights may also come on. Internal failure of the SAS Control Module may be the cause.

• U3000:49 [Standard Deployment Control System] - SAS control module internal malfunction.
• C0061:29 [Standard Deployment Control System] - Low-G sensor (lateral-G) in SAS control module (internal
circuit disabled).
• C0062:29 [Standard Deployment Control System] - Low-G sensor (forward-G) in SAS control module (internal circuit disabled).
• C0063:29 [Standard Deployment Control System] - Yaw rate sensor in SAS control module (internal circuit
disabled).
NOTE: Other DTC(s) may be stored along with the DTC(s) specified below.
Mazda3 / CX-5
• U0452:00/86 [DSC] - Abnormal message from SAS control module.
• U0415:00 - CAN system communication error.
• U0415:68 [FSC] - Error signal received from DSC HU/CM.
• U0316:09 [V/C-Module] - Error signal received from DSC HU/CM.
Mazda6
• C0061:29 [DSC] - Low-G sensor (lateral-G) in SAS control module (internal circuit disabled).
• C0062:29 [DSC] - Low-G sensor (forward-G) in SAS control module (internal circuit disabled).
• C0063:29 [DSC] - Yaw rate sensor in SAS control module (internal circuit disabled).
• U0415:00 - CAN communication error.
• U0415:68 [FSC] - Error signal received from DSC HU/CM.
• U0316:09 [V/C-Module] - Error signal received from DSC HU/CM.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Replace the SAS control module. Refer to MS3 online or Workshop Manual section 08-10:
• Mazda3 - SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]
• Mazda6 - SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]
• CX-5 - SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL
SYSTEM]
3. Clear DTC(s). Refer to MS3 online or Workshop Manual section 08-02:
• Mazda3 - CLEARING DTC [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]
• Mazda6 - CLEARING DTC [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]
• CX-5 - CLEARING DTC [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]
4. Turn the ignition OFF.
5. Turn the ignition ON.
6. Perform DTC inspection to verify no DTC(s) are stored in memory.
NOTE: Failure to perform Step 4 may cause some DTC(s) (other that U0415) not to be retrieved, leading
to incorrect diagnosis.
7. Verify repair.
