Continental Airbag Control Module Warranty Extension
Audi is extending warranty coverage for the Continental airbag control module in certain 2008-2010 MY
vehicles (under specific conditions) to 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's
original in-service date. The vehicle's in-service date is defined as the date the vehicle was delivered to either
the original purchaser or the original lessee; or if the vehicle was first placed in service as a "demonstrator" or
"company" car, on the date such vehicle was first placed in service. This warranty extension is fully transferable
to subsequent owners.
In rare cases, a power supply component in the airbag control module may corrode and cause the module to
fail, turning on the airbag light in the instrument panel. If the airbag light is on due to this issue, safety
systems such as seat belt pretensions and airbags may not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of
occupant injury.
What is covered under this Warranty Extension
If the airbag light comes on and stays on while a vehicle is within the time and mileage limits of this warranty
extension, an authorized Audi dealer will perform a diagnosis to determine if the light is on due to the airbag
control module power supply component corrosion issue. The diagnosis is completed at no cost to the
customer.
If diagnosis confirms the vehicle has the listed issue, the repair will be performed at no cost to the customer.
What is not covered under this Warranty Extension

 If diagnosis reveals that the vehicle has an unrelated issue(s) any necessary repairs will not be covered under
this warranty extension.
 Damage or malfunctions caused by outside influence, such as damage due to an accident, or vehicle misuse
or neglect, and repairs that are necessary for proper diagnosis of these conditions or required to bring the
vehicle up to factory specifications are not covered by this warranty extension.

 The warranty and maintenance information that came with the vehicle contains information on

the limited warranties applicable to the customer’s Audi model. The customer should read these
limited warranties carefully to determine their warranty rights and obligations, as this
information also applies to the coverage provided to customers in this warranty extension.
 If a customer previously paid for replacement of a faulty Continental airbag control module due
to corrosion as described, he may request reimbursement.
