Greetings!
I would like to remind everyone to keep a close eye on
the nightly temperatures as cooler weather
approaches. The Airstream factory started to winterize
all newly released units starting September 15th. This
would be a good time to winterize any stock units you
received prior to September 15th.

We have had some new features that I would like to
bring to your attention in this newsletter that have been
updated on some of the trailers.
We also completed our service tech training for the
Travel Trailers and Vans and I would like to thank the
dealers for sending techs to our class. I know it is hard
to be short handed for the week while they are here in
training. We had a great class and a good group or
techs that were very excited to learn.

The Baraldi fan has had some updates. The switches
have been changed and a new LED light has been
added. You may have seen these on new arrivals at
your dealership.

Aide Mixing Valve Adjustments:
The high-temperature thermostatic mixing valve 3102002 for the Aide water system. The 3102-002 mixing
valve should have a max water temperature output at
the valve of 118 degrees. This will give you a max
temperature at the shower of 108 -113 degrees. The
average person takes a 102-104 degree shower. If the
water temperature, while on max hot, at the shower
faucet is lower than 105 degrees you will need to
adjust the mixing valve. The following steps will show
you how to adjust the mixing valve if it is on max and
not getting a high enough temperature at the shower.

All adjustments should be done with the water
pressure off and the water heater turned off with the
water cold. Start by turning the valve clockwise all
the way to the lowest (minus-) setting. Take the
center screw out of the knob and pull the knob off,
reinstall the knob just past the stopping point and
keep turning until it stops (bottoms out)

To the left you will see the+ and - stopping points of
the knob and the valve.

Reinstall the knob back on to the lowest setting and
then turn it counter clockwise till it hits the max stop
position. Jump the knob over the stop and turn it
again counter clockwise till it hits the stop again. This
will be two complete turns of the valve.

After you have turned the knob twice to the max
setting remove the knob and place it back on half way
between the+ and - so it will be in the position
shown to the left. Now you will want to reinstall the
screw. This position should be 109 degrees, turning to
max of 118 and minimum of 100 degrees. This is how
the valve is calibrated from the vender.

If the valve is still not letting enough hot water at the
shower faucet while at the max setting adjust the
valve by turning it to the max stop, Remove the screw
and put the knob back on a ¼ turn from the max cold
water setting.

A¼ turn will put the knob in this position, you can
make this adjustment only twice. If it would need to
be adjusted up more the valve should be replaced.

If the valve needs replacing please follow the next set of instructions.

To remove the valve you will need to take out the
four screws that hold the valve to the floor and then
remove the three water lines. Make sure to relieve
the water pressure before you take the water lines
apart.

To remove the water line push the water line into the
fitting and then hold the retainer ring closed while
pulling the water line out. To insert a water line
simply push the water line into the fitting till it
bottoms out and it will lock into the water line.
Reinstall the screws in the bracket and test.

New stabilizer jacks for the Flying Cloud and International units.
Starting in July we replaced the BAL stabilizer jack with the Norco stabilizer jack. The new jack has a
powder coat coating to help it stand up to the elements better.

The new blinds have and easier way to adjust the tension to the strings. You can tighten or
loosen the tension by using the slider on the base of the blind.

Using the red adjustment tool, place it over the plastic slider and move left to loosen the strings and move it right to
tighten the strings. If you need one of these tools please contact me and I can send them to you.

Congratulations on our newest class from our October training.
We had 21 techs from 11 different dealers.
We had classes on the trailer systems,
Metal panel replacement and the Touring
Couch systems. This was our biggest class
we have had for the tech training and it was
great to see the techs eager to learn.

We have a External Aluminum panel replacement class scheduled for January 16th through the 19th here at
Airstream. This is a hands on class where technicians will assist in replacing panels. The class only has a few
spots left so if you would like to sign up please contact me as soon as passable.
