Summary
THIS CAMPAIGN IS BEING ISSUED TO ADDRESS PLUGGING OF THE EGR COOLERS AND EGR VALVES RESULTING IN FC1896 AND/OR FC3382 ON CERTAIN ENGINES IN TRANSIT BUS APPLICATIONS. THIS CAMPAIGN AUTHORIZES CERTIFIED REPAIR LOCATIONS TO REPLACE THE VALVE STEM SEALS, AND IF REQUIRED, UPDATE THE ECM CALIBRATION. THIS IS A REVISION TO A PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED COMMUNICATION.

This is to revise and replace Campaign 1613-B, dated 17-Nov-2015. This revision is to:
1. Add Part Number 529543600 as OPTIONAL, and
2. Clarify the narrative.

Description
This Campaign is being issued to address plugging of the EGR coolers and EGR Valves
resulting in FC1896 and/or FC3382 on ISL9 CM2350 Transit Bus Applications. This Campaign
authorizes certified repair locations to replace the valve stem seals, and if required, update the
ECM calibration. The EGR cooler and/or the EGR valve are not covered under this field
action. It must be troubleshot and repaired separately.

1. will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2. must show an OPEN status for this field action on QuickServe™ Online, and
3. must be an ISL9 CM2350 Transit Bus application.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:
NOTE: Please refer to the ISL CM2350 Service Manual, Bulletin 4310787 for detailed
instructions.
1. Please refer to Procedure 000-009 in section 0 to steam clean the engine.
2. Please refer to Procedure 002-016 in section 2 to remove and reinstall all 24 valve stem
seals.
3. Please refer to Procedure 019-032 in section 19 to inspect the calibration revision
history. Update the calibration if a later revision is available.
4. File all parts and labor under this Campaign.
Material Disposition
Materials removed as a result of this field action must be scrapped.
