Summary
NEWMAR CORPORATION HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN SPECIFIC MOTORHOMES BUILT ON FREIGHTLINER
CHASSIS. THIS RECALL IS THE RESULT OF INFORMATION PROVIDED TO NEWMAR BY DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA. NHTSA#16V 270, TC# 2016-262 ON CERTAIN MOTORHOMES, THE FRONT SWAY BAR MOUNTING BRACKET MAY NOT FIT ON THE AXLE MOUNTING SURFACE CORRECTLY. THIS COULD CAUSE THE MOUNTING BOLTS TO BEND OR BECOME LOOSE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE SWAY BAR POSSIBLY DETACHING, POTENTIALLY AFFECTING VEHICLE HANDLING AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH CAUSING INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Description
Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motorhomes
built on Freightliner chassis. This recall is the result of information provided to Newmar by Daimler Trucks
North America. NHTSA#16v 270, TC# 2016-262
Issue: On certain motorhomes, the front sway bar mounting bracket may not fit on the axle mounting surface
correctly. This could cause the mounting bolts to bend or become loose, which could result in the sway bar
possibly detaching, potentially affecting vehicle handling and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or
property damage.
The affected 2015 and 2016 Ventana and Ventana LE motorhomes were built between 4/8/2015 and 2/8/2016
.
Recommended Action
Correction: The sway bar mounting will be modified on affected vehicles. Daimler Trucks North America will
provide work instructions and perform the repairs at an authorized service facility at no cost to the customer.
Repair Procedure: Contact DTNA at 800-547-0712 or e-mail [email protected].
Recall # 16v 208 DTNA has set the time for this repair at 1.7 hr.
Note: Newmar will not be authorizing this repair. DTNA will authorize and schedule this repair. If you need

Newmar Corporation – Motor Vehicle Recall Notification
Subject: Recall Campaign No.: 16V 270
This notice is sent to you as a Newmar Dealer in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and
Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety
exists in specific Newmar recreational vehicles.
The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act requires that each vehicle which is subject to a recall campaign
of this type must be satisfactorily repaired within a reasonable time after the owner has tendered it for repair. A
failure to adequately repair within 60 days after tender of a vehicle is prima facie evidence of failure to repair
within a reasonable time. To avoid providing these problematic solutions, every effort must be made to promptly
schedule an appointment with each owner and to repair their vehicle as soon as possible. Vehicle owners are being
notified of this recall. If the condition is not remedied within a reasonable time, they are instructed on how to
contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
REASON FOR THIS RECALL
Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motor homes
built on Freightliner chassis. This recall is the result of information provided to us by Daimler Trucks North America.
On certain Freightliner brand motorhome chassis, the front sway bar mounting bracket may not fit flush on the
axle mounting surface and cause the mounting bolts to bend or become loose. Loose sway bar mounting bolts
could potentially result in a detached sway bar. A detached sway bar on a motorhome may result in higher than
expected vehicle sway or reduced handling potentially increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: The sway bar
mounting will be modified on affected vehicles.
These motor homes require immediate service. Continued use poses a potential safety hazard.
DEALER CAMPAIGN RESPONSIBILITY
Dealers are to provide to all customers/owner vehicles the service of completing this campaign at no charge to
the customer/owner regardless of vehicle age, vehicle mileage, or ownership at the time of repair.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Daimler Trucks North America will provide work instructions. The sway bar mounting will be modified on affected
vehicles. Repairs will be performed by Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities at no cost to the
customer.

This notice is sent to you as a Newmar Dealer in accordance with the requirements of the Canada Motor Vehicle
Safety Act. Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in specific
Newmar recreational vehicles.
Each vehicle which is subject to a recall campaign of this type must be satisfactorily repaired within a reasonable
time after the owner has tendered it for repair. A failure to adequately repair within 60 days after tender of a
vehicle is prima facie evidence of failure to repair within a reasonable time. To avoid providing these problematic
solutions, every effort must be made to promptly schedule an appointment with each owner and to repair their
vehicle as soon as possible. Vehicle owners are being notified of this recall. If the condition is not remedied within
a reasonable time, they are instructed to contact Transport Canada.

This recall applies to 2015 Newmar Ventana motorhomes built between 4/27/2015 and 5/06/2015.
