Dear Ducati Dealer,
We would like to inform you that over the last few months we have identified several cases of Safety
and/or Technical Update Recall Campaigns not performed on motorcycles that have passed through
Ducati Service Workshop’s for repairs under Warranty.
We remind you that Dealers are obliged to ensure the proper execution of a Recall and/or Technical
Update Campaign operations on affected Ducati motorcycles, regardless of the identity of the purchaser
and the place where the vehicle was purchased.
It is therefore necessary for you to check, in the DCS platform in the ‘Service/Vehicle History’ section, if
the motorcycle is involved in one or more Campaigns while arranging an appointment via telephone, in
person, and when receiving the motorcycle. If the motorcycle has not yet been delivered to the final
customer, a first check must be performed as soon as a new Campaign is released, or during the predelivery phase at the latest.
Warranty claims must be submitted correctly and as soon as possible.
If you do not have enough spare parts available in your stock, always place an Urgent Order. In instances
of a Safety Recall Campaign, you are NOT permitted to deliver the motorcycle to the Customer
without performing the operations specified in the Campaign. For Technical Update Campaigns,
should it not be possible to perform the update operations immediately, you should schedule an
appointment with the Customer as soon as possible.
Should you find problems that could compromise the Campaign's success, inform Ducati North America
Service Department immediately.
ATTENTION
If you deliver a motorcycle without performing the operations required by a Safety
and/or Technical Update Recall Campaign and this results in damages to property
or people (Customer included), you will be held responsible (from a civil and/or
criminal point of view) for the relevant consequences, in accordance with the law.
Furthermore, for any damage to property or people caused by failure to perform
the operations required by a Safety and/or Technical Update Recall Campaign, you
will also be responsible for any charges of liability or other claims or damages
(including corporate image damages) suffered by Ducati, in accordance with the
law.
