This is to revise and replace Campaign 1388-A, dated 20-Aug-2013. This revision is to:
1. Inform the field to, when ordering part kit, reference Novabus service document
SB2053 to obtain negotiated Campaign pricing.
If additional information is required, contact your Cummins Warranty Operations Group
Leader.

Description
The Campaign is being issued to address FC 3569 occurrences on ISL9 aftertreatment
systems that lead to failed DEF dosing valves in transit bus applications. The rerouting of the
DEF supply line and coolant lines to the dosing valve has been determined to reduce FC 3569.
Please refer to the attached ESN list for all applicable engine aftertreatments.
NOTE: This Campaign is retroactive to July 29, 2013, and covers work performed prior

to the actual release date of this Campaign, that meets the requirements of this
document.

Action
In order to qualify for repair under this field action, an engine:
1. will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2. must be on the attached ESN list.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:
1. Reroute the DEF supply line and coolant lines to the DEF dosing valve per the procedure
in Attachment B.

Material Disposition
Materials removed as a result of this field action must be scrapped.

Prevost can be contacted at https://prevostparts.volvo.com/support/ The cost of this kit
is not to exceed $19.50 and should be claimed as a consumable.

negotiated Campaign pricing.

NOTE: SRTs to gain access that are required to complete the repair, that are sufficiently
explained in the claim narrative, may also be claimed on this action.
NOTE: SRT 99-902 is being provided to reroute the DEF supply line and coolant lines for
the DEF dosing valve. It also accounts for checking the lines for leaks after the
procedure has been completed.

DEF/Cooling Line Re-route
Installation/Time Study

Specialty Tools Used For Installation

Step 1: Clamp both coolant hoses approx 2”
from quick connect fitting

Step 2: Disconnect coolant lines

Step 3: Using a flat tip screw driver, remove
“crimp type” OEM clamp

Step 4: Remove quick connect fitting and
install it onto (kit supplied) extension

Step 5: Install coolant hose extension onto
existing coolant hose and tighten
both clamps

Step 6: Reconnect coolant hoses and
remove clamps

Step 7: Remove air filter housing mtg bolt.
Install cooling hose bracket

Step 8: Install P clip and bolt as shown

Step 9: Locate OEM wire harness mounting
stud and remove 10mm nut

Step 10: Install bracket behind OEM wiring
Note: 45 degree bend will be located
parallel to firewall

Step 11: Install P clip and bolt as shown

Step 12: Operate engine and inspect for
leaks
