Exhaust Baffle Rattle Noise

Equipped with 6.2L V8 Engine (RPO LSA) and Automatic Transmission (RPO MYD)
Condition/Concern
Some customers may comment on a rattle type noise coming from underneath the vehicle.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, technicians may find that the noise is coming from the baffles in the exhaust system that are located in the tailpipe. This
noise is most prevalent when driving at speeds that are just off idle, usually between 1100-1500 RPM.
Recommendation/Instructions
A revised fuel pump control module software update has been released to address this concern.
Reprogram the fuel pump control module with the revised software following the Fuel Pump Flow Control Module Programming and Setup procedure
in SI.
When using a Multiple Diagnostic Interface (MDI) for reprogramming, ensure that it is updated with the latest software version.
During programming, the battery voltage must be maintained within the proper range of 12-15 volts. Only use the approved Midtronics® PSC 550
Battery Maintainer (SPS Programming Support Tool EL-49642) or equivalent during programming.
