Subject: Protection of Video Input Circuits

Due to the nature of video input circuits, it is difficult to protect the physical inputs from damage when
exposed to voltage on the ground side of the video circuit. It is imperative that care is taken during the
installation process to prevent the video circuits from being exposed to power of any kind. Failure to
adhere to this recommendation will result in irreparable damage to the display and will void the warranty.
When using RCA style connectors the outer metal portion of the connector is actually attached to the
display’s internal video ground circuit. Any exposure of this portion of the connector to power will result in
damage to the display.

Video Ground Circuit

Oftentimes the displays are mounted in areas where there are power distribution circuits nearby. Extreme
caution should be used when installing displays in these areas to ensure the video circuits do not come in
contact with these power distribution circuits.
