Recall of Takata Passenger Side Airbags

As you may know, Ferrari has been informed by Takata, in line with the same issue that
has already affected many millions of vehicles from other manufacturers, of a potential non–
conformity in the supply of a component in the passenger-side airbags installed on some Ferrari
vehicles. Takata has reported that, depending on age and certain weather related conditions, the
passenger side front air bag inflator of these cars could potentially rupture in case of an incident
in which the frontal airbags deploy. In addition to the vehicles currently under the recall, based on
the data currently available, new Ferrari vehicles may also be affected.
These new vehicles have a non-desiccated passenger front airbag which may need to be
replaced in the future with a different airbag inflator.
The non-desiccated passenger front airbag installed on our new vehicles may be affected
by high heat and high humidity over time. However, as a new vehicle, the passenger front airbag
in a new vehicle is not yet affected by the current recall.
Sale of New Vehicles:
It is important that all new vehicle purchasers are aware of the possibility of this upcoming
recall. Therefore, we have printed a sticker that must be placed on all three warranty booklet
cards that the customer signs. See example on page 3 of this bulletin. We also have a card that
will need to be placed in the warranty booklet. See example on page 4 of this bulletin. We are
also providing you with a disclosure form (attached) that must be signed by the dealer in
connection with the sale of each potentially affected new car. Note that the dealer must do the
following before signing this disclosure form:

Explain to the client that the passenger frontal airbag on the new vehicle may be subject to
a recall prior to December 31, 2018.
Discuss the Warranty Booklet with the client and at that time show the client the inserted
card and signature page with sticker concerning the Takata Passenger Frontal Airbag
Recall.
Only after explaining this information to the client, have the client sign the Warranty
Booklet for this Vehicle.
This procedure will remain in place until further notice.

NOTE: The signed disclosure form must be provided to FNA along with the RDR Card. You
may email it to Keri O’Keefe when you email the RDR card (Kerri.OKeefe@ferrari.com), or
you may provide it when you FedEx the original RDR card.
Sale of Demo Cars: For Demo cars, please follow as set forth above, except that the first
retail client will not sign the Warranty Booklet.
A supply of these cards and stickers will be sent to you under separate cover. In the near future,
incoming new vehicles will already contain the warranty booklet insert page and sticker. In the
meantime, should you need additional cards or stickers, please contact your ABM.
Based on the data currently available, the new vehicles that may be affected are:

2016 – 2017 – F12tdf

Sale of Used Vehicles:
Additionally, for any used MY ’09 -’11 Ferrari California or MY ’10-11 458 Italia vehicles, we are
also providing you with a disclosure form (attached) that must be signed by the dealer in
connection with the sale of each potentially affected used car. By signing this form, dealer is
certifying that dealer explained to the MY ’09 -’11 Ferrari California or MY ’10-11 458 Italia used
car client that the passenger frontal airbag on the above referenced used Ferrari vehicle may be
subject to recall prior to December 31, 2018. This procedure will remain in place until further
notice.
Please provide the signed Used Car Disclosure Form to FNA by emailing it to Keri O’Keefe
(Kerri.OKeefe@ferrari.com).
