CNG PRD Rubbing Against
Behind the Cab System Door

1. Introduction

A recent production deviation (pressure relief device part change) in new behind the cab (BTC)
CNG systems causes some rubbing against the cabinet door, see Figure 1. Contact happens
because of the normal expansion and contraction of the fuel cylinder, which moves the plumbing
components within the cabinet.
Because the thermal device is outside of the load path in a side impact, contact with the door will
have no effect on PRD function, system performance or safety. This is a cosmetic issue only (paint
rubs off at the contact points and in some instances, indentation of the cabinet door may occur.).
Production assembly steps have been revised to accommodate cylinder movement, and a higher
profile rubber bumper (Agility Fuel Systems 10712347) is being used between the door and the
striker rail (door land).

2. Affected Units
This procedure applies to some 75 DGE and 100 DGE BTC systems built since January 2014 with
OMB Bull PRDs, part number 10300978 as shown in Figures 1 and 2.

3. Tools, Materials and Required Parts

Common hand tools
Agility Fuel Systems rubber bumper, part number 10712347, quantity as needed.

4. Procedure
1. There is no need to depressurize or defuel the system for this procedure.
2. Refer to Figures 3, 4 and 5. The door lands should have existing 9/32-in. holes for the
rubber bumpers. If they are not present, drill them as needed on bracket flange(show
below)

3. Press the bumper into the hole. Use a small drift punch or similar tool to push the rubber
barb into place as shown in Figure 5.

This procedure should provide adequate clearance between the PRD elbow and door. If the
larger rubber bumpers do not fix this issue, call the Agility Product Support Group Hotline.
